Huh??? Any conversation about BMW pricing is always about the "base" price which on any BMW does not include ANY amenities ... Still have no idea what you are talking about??? Nothing comes standard on a BMW except maybe bi-xenons and leather in some models.. everything is an option or a package

True, but again for purposes of comparing pricing on different models, we usually talk about base pricing not including any options or packages such as premium or sport or i-drive nav or tech package in the case of the M3

I suspect it will be $49,600 or something like that. Just under $50k since that's a tough psychological barrier for the smallest Bimmer to start over $50k.
If my poor math skills hold, that represents about a 37% increase over the base price of the 135 which would be identical to the delta between the 335 coupe and the M3 coupe.

Since there is approx. $5k difference between the 135 and 335 base price, I would assume that it would be slightly greater between the M1 and M3. My reasoning is that they will not have the same engine in this instance and the M3 has the "higher profile" engine. Which engine is actually better is an argument for another day (like the day they release the specs on the M1 engine). So, I figure there should be a $7k-$8k difference in price between a base M1 and base M3. That should put the price right around the $50k point, although BMW would be wise to price it just under $50k.

Actually, the M steering wheel and shift knob were not standard. You either needed to get the Sport or M-sport package to get those. But yeah, the 135 did come with many other little features standard.

Whatever the price is, it will need to be reasonable. The point of this M is get people into the brand, and close-to-50k or more base price ain't gonna do that. Sub 46k would be ideal, like 45,999 + Dest.

I'm pretty sure I'll be in for whatever they are asking, with a substantial discount, please. I think the consensus will prove to be pretty accurate, a base price of ~$10k more than the 135i, and considering it will be at least 1.5 years before the car is actually available for purchase, that price could be anywhere from $47-$50k, and optioned out the way most people will want it I'm sure it will be ~$58k, I wouldn't be surprised if they offer options that will put the price potentially as high as $65k fully loaded.
I hope the price is a lot lower, though |

Considering we all paid upwards of 80k for our 135i's here in Oz we would be stoked if the M1 was anything under 100k.
I predict the M1 will cost a bit more than the 335is. The M badge doesn't come cheap. |
