The original number rumoured which was deemed to be not powerful enough from a board member was 350hp - so I think it would be higher than that. It comes back to the expected max torque of 450nm which is already in the uprated N54. If it maintains the same torque and revs up higher, it should have numbers of 370+.

Hopefully, we will find out sooner to see what will have installed for us.
Scott said we were looking at around 375 because a board member deemed 350 too little. 3300 isn't too bad considering the car is about the same size as my e46. Could be better, but again, it is an ///M car. Added LSD, bigger tires, usually a bigger engine, etc. . . At least it hasn't gone up.

+1

I completely agree. If the weight is a tad less than the stock 135i with all of the M items, this is great news.

Especially considering all the extras that people want that BMW might leave off for weight saving to keep it right with a 135i

I don't really understand why anyone was expecting a big weight drop anyway. Has any standard ///M car (as in not a special sub-model like the CSL) been a lightweight version of the car it sprouted from? 100 lbs. sound logical - mostly the sunroof delete and switch to carbon fiber roof.

I want a sunroof lol. #2 thing on my list of options. #1 is a steptronic or DCT 7-speed

I kinda wish they made CF roofs with a sunroof

That would defeat the purpose of the CF by adding all that weight up the top....?

It is true. Not even one BMW M car is lighter than a BMW AG car. BMW M cars are the heaviest of the line up. The only lighter one are the M3 CSL and M3 GTS. I am for a light car, but most of you not, because you want radio, navi, A/C, electric heated seats, cup holders.....

BMW 335i (E92): 1600 kg (EU)
BMW M3 (E92): 1655 kg (EU)
BMW 650i (E63): 1725 kg (EU)
BMW M6 (E63): 1785 kg (EU)
BMW X6 xDrive50i (E71): 2265 kg (EU)
BMW X6 M (E71): 2380 kg (EU)
BMW 135i: 1560 kg (EU)
BMW M1: 1600 kg (EU)??? 55 kg less than M3 and 40 kg more than 135i compared to M3 55 kg more than 335i?

If M1 gets lighter than 135i it is the best thing that could ever happen.

Well, with the low revs that the new turbo engine is going to exhibit, would it matter?

yes, but it looks sweet with the CF and it would be sweet with a sunroof. I get so many compliments when my sunroofs up. I could only imagine what that would do with a $55k sports car. Alpine White or Sedona red metallic with a CF roof with the sunroof up.

I think thats what the official will be, but BMW underrates their engines. Im thinking about 375-385 off a dyno.
