bmw 1M engine malfunction
I just bought a 2011 BMW 1M and drove it from Boise Idaho back to So cal everything was fine but at the moment it is around 110 degrees outside, the car felt really slow as usually with super hot temps but I got an engine malfunction and the codes were 29E1 and 30FF the car feels slow of course with the temps just wondering. not really sure if there's any big issue here

30FF is usually due to boost leaks. Check the area where the charge pipe connects to the throttle body; 90% chance that it's cracked there and needs to be replaced. If it is cracked, don't bother with a stock replacement as it'll likely fail again, get an aftermarket aluminum one.

30FF can also be associated with turbo wastegate issues.
I agree about the aftermarket charge pipe but keep in mind that it can cause you to fail CA smog (even with a stealthy black one) - don’t ask me how I know! |
