Upgrading Fuel Pump Wiring
Looking on the Fuel-It site there are notes annotated in red in regards to the Stage 2 or higher bucket pumps drawing too much power, causing the EKP module to overheat and shut down. I understand this is a disclaimer on their part though I did find a decent amount of threads on it.
In other cars I have owned I have simply interrupted the OEM pump power wire at the plug and used the power from the module to trigger a relay running a direct 10g fused lead from the battery to the pump for higher pump voltage. This is done to increase from 12v to 14.4v at the pump maximizing flow. After searching a while I can't find much info about anyone doing this with the e series. Can this be done without causing any damage to the EKP module or other vehicle components? Additionally does anyone have a source for the male and female power connectors so I can make a harness instead of cutting the factory wiring? |

the answer I got from Fuel-It was that it can not be wired this way because it's a PWM module. My research then lead me to this page.
