Do I have BT?

Gentlemen,

I have a 2011 128i (2011/01 manufacture date) and was wondering if the radio has bluetooth. I did read the last post of this thread where someone else who has a 2011 128i as well just needed to have it turned on.

https://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=471024

Can anyone please confirm this based on the uploaded pictures of my setup and radio?

Thank you

Yep. I have a 2011. I have BT & these options. I think you need the 6VC & 639

6AA BMW TELESERVICES
6AB CONTROL TELESERVICES
6FL USB-/AUDIO INTERFACE
6VC CONTROL COMBOX
639 COMPLETE PREP. CELLULAR PHONE USA/CDN
676 HIFI LOUDSPEAKER SYSTEM
693 SATELLITE TUNER PREPARATION

That said I don't know if you can pay a coder to code in the BT options or something has to be installed.

Here is an old thread.

I have BT and do not have option 6VC so it must not be needed for BT.

If you have the "SOS" button in your roof console, you have Bluetooth.

Good news is I do have S6VCA...if that's even worth anything. Can anyone chime in on this?

I don't have the SOS button, but I do have S8SCA. Can someone please chime in on this as well?

Are you looking for BT to make calls or stream music or both?

Best way to know with 100% certainty is to drop the panel that sits above your feet above the pedals, and look for the Bluetooth antenna. It will be attached to that panel along with a small speaker and the footwell light.

Looks like this:

Both. Or at least one of the 2 if I can for now at least with my current setup until I make the necessary modifications to do both.

Thanks for sharing that MightyMouseTech. Is this antenna needed for making calls or music?

I may be wrong but combox is a must to stream music through bluetooth.

Arrow MULF com box in trunk...

Look in your trunk... pull up the false floor where the battery is located. Look at little bit further forward(passenger side) and you will see the MULF com box. IF you have this box... you just need the BT antenna and some coding to make BT work in your car.

Alternatively, IF your car has 6FL, the USB port in the center console... you can buy a cheap(for under $100) BT jack that uses the USB port and the 3mm AUX port.

My car has 6FL but no BT. But I do have the com box MULF under the trunk liner. I am told it's quite easy to retrofit BT. I do not have an SOS button nor iDrive.

Com box is next to my yellow MF towel...

If you do the BMW retrofit, it will come with a new roof panel, which will have the SOS button.

Edit: hmm, maybe not. See next post.

So I might be a little confused here. I have a 2011 with the SOS button, and my bluetooth works for calls. Are we saying that there's a way to code in bluetooth streaming music as well?

Yes, I think so. (but again, I don't have BT so I don't know for sure).

Or... you can use a device like I linked above from Amazon.

Maybe MightyMouseTech can chime in again. ?

Yeah I have one of those bluetooth devices you linked, but it doesn't work as smoothly as I would like, doesn't sound too great, and uses up some of my beloved ports. I'll read through that thread you linked, thanks Dack!

Gentlemen, I'm still pretty confused. So I've have my first post which has pictures of the head unit (just as a reminder) and now I've accessed my Combox (thanks Dackelone) which as you can see shows the BT sticker and info.

I do have USB on the car and my production date is 1/2011.

I have a few questions:

1) Does my current radio have BT?

2) Does my Combox having BT mean that I can get BT music and calling? I'm trying to setup both

3) Is my Combox also the same thing as MULF? The reason why I ask is because I don't see any MULF references anywhere on it. This leads into my next question...

4) Does this post (https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=660738) apply to me considering it talks about MULF? I have a Combox

5) This post says the BT antenna goes in the front kick panel area https://www.babybmw.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28703

This post says it connects to the MULF https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=660738

Where should I connect my BT antenna?

6) Do I need multiple BT antenna one for the front kick panel and one for my Combox?

7) Which one of these applies to me?

https://www.babybmw.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28703

OR

https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=660738

8) Can I code my car for BT music and calling using this video?

Lots of questions and I apologize but this is pretty messy. Thank you all for your contributions thus far. Kindly stick with these questions for now to keep untangling my mess
