Today my order came in from janus and the face plate (black piece that goes around the double din) cracked during shipment. The box was horribly wrapped together with the metal piece, and I can only imagine the metal bracket piece crushing the plastic piece.
I emailed him (chris from Janus) haven't heard from him yet, but it'll be interesting what he says. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b7...ps5589a6f3.jpg |

janus designs makes the best kit they put the auto climate control module on bottom underneath and relocate the push buttons like convertible top heated seats sport mode into the ashtray looks so much cleaner

Looks good, did you install? The CarPlay unit is considerably less deep than other dbl din units. I suspect the install may not have involved as much surgery as usual. Did you put the stock head unit in another location? More details please.

You do if you ever need any updates from the dealer (DME, etc).
Removing the factory head unit breaks the MOST ring.

I am trying to fit usb-c/HDMI 15" screen (covering the original radio) so I need to lower the climate controls. I don't think I need Janus frame though because I am keeping the BMW radio. All I need to do, I imagine, is to trim the the lower clips and make a nice hole in the bottom trim.
Does anyone have Janus-design manual of what's need to be cut and what doesn't? |
