Question New 1M Engine Cover

One thing I thought could use some cosmetic improvement on our cars is the engine cover. Throwing an upside down "powered by M" decal on a regular N54 cover is the best M group could do apparently on the 1M. I like what IND did with the paint scheme but thought it would look even better on one of ER's CF engine cover. The CF looks good and some might just leave it alone, but I think it would look even better with some sort of paint scheme. Just curious what other owners think. Also want to do a more traditional looking "M" style with the M logo. The one pictured is of the back of the 1M but I think it would look even better with the newer smaller style M emblem.

So what do you guys think?

I think it'd look better without the roundel, similar to all the other OEM covers. Too busy with both.

I was thinking the same thing, but the CF cover has an indentation for the roundel. Would have to be filled and then painted obviously. I have been leaning towards just painting the whole thing AW anyways.

UPDATE:
Well I know the majority of the poll voters felt it's best to leave it stock, but I really am not to fond of the stock cover. Just got the AW painted CF cover back and I installed it last night. I think it looks clean!

Out of all of those I like the S54 cover the best: it's metal, and has a great BMW mechanical look to it compared to the later plastic covers.

I like it but CF in the engine bay will yellow too quickly with all the heat.

The carbon fiber painted would be a great idea. Also as far as the M/// logo idk if i would keep what is oem or go more towards the logo like the m3

A smaller emblem would be better though

Love the CF but I'd like to see the same layout as the factory one, i.e. roundel and "Powered By BMW M" only in the exact same spots. I think that would look the classiest.

I'd settle for just flipping the Powered by M label around so that it is not upside down. Has anyone tried to peel it off and reposition it?

Guys, Pape is very right! CF will eventually green/yellow with all that heat in there. In my Audi I had my factory CF engine trim replaced by the dealer (which was high quality German made), and it is only a matter of time before it goes green again. Here is a nasty pic:

What about something a bit more untraditional. How about an airbox cover, something similar to the Dinan beauty, with the M logo there? Yes, it's not the engine per se, but the stock air box piece is fugly. Less heat there so it shouldn't be that prone to yellowing me thinks.
