WTB: E82 RDC Module
It's the tire pressure sensor module that's connected behind the passenger taillight. Mine got wet by rain, somehow. Looks like this: Anyone have one? |

Gauges were going crazy and I was getting an "electrical systems failure" notification.
Shop traced the error to the RDC module. When they removed it there was water dripping from it and it was moldy. Guess water was getting through the taillight seal. |

OP - you could also just "code out" the TPMS to EU specs(they use the car's ABS sensors to detect a flat instead of a ECU with tire sensors). I think apps like BMWcarly and BMWhat do this. But check.

I've got BMWhat. But I've noticed that with the RDC module removed, my rear parking sensors don't function.

Just got the new RDC module. Plugged it in and my TPMS appears to be working. My PDC does not though. I'm not sure what the shop did when they were diagnosing the electrical issues. Any idea of how I should proceed? |

Like everything to do with modern cars... you need to read the fault memory first and then go from there.

I know this is old, but your parking sensors don't work because that module got wet too. Both modules are located in the same spot. If u take apart the carpet on the passenger side, you will see a styrofoam placeholder with three slots. Two of them are for the RDC and the PDC, but I do not know what the other is for. My car is basic and doesn't have PDC but the RDC comes standard and that module was soaked (left a container with water open smh). Good luck!
