AGH!! $4,500?!!! Was the Service Advisor pointing a loaded gun at you when he/she quoted that number? Did you look directly into his/her eyes and wait for him/her to say, "Just kidding."?

I hope you didn't pay that worthless, slimy, pitiful excuse for a BMW dealer $4,500 just to replace your water pump. If you did, I recommend you immediately contact BMW North America Customer Relations for assistance in getting at least half your money back... 1-800-831-1117. I don't know if this will work, but it is definitely worth a phone call to find out.

Peace... Mack

Electric water pump failure 88k!

First time post I own a 2011' 135i e88 convertible, beautiful car to drive but reliability starting to concern me, have owned for 2 years purchased with 74k and always serviced at BMW dealer, has blown off a boost pipe and now water pump gone so this car gets one more chance and might have to go back to Japanese reliability.

Mine went at 50k so I'm not sure what you're complaining about.
Honestly, if you wanted anything even close to Japanese reliability boy did you buy the wrong car.

For sure...I did a lot of reading here + the link(or I Googled, don't remember) to the "Mods for power site, that had link for ""all" BMW engine problems links..." . I bought my '11 135i anyway, lol, but did purchase a 5y/50k miles warranty, just in case.

Good investment, My water pump went out at 58K, was covered with a warranty (cpo car). 2012 msport. As for Japanese reliability, I have a 1993 Miata MX5 that has 260K plus on it with it's share of replacement parts ,lol.
