Go for the Ohlins suspension. Much better than KW. As for brakes, drilled/slotted, no real benefit, it is purely for looks.

For the KW V1, these are the options;
1) KW Suspensions 10220039 - Variant 1 Coilovers - Front: 1.4-2.5in - Rear: 1.4-2.1in
- https://www.tdotperformance.ca/kw-su...1-4-2-1in.html

2) KW Suspensions 18020039 - Street Comfort Coilovers - Front: 0.8-1.6in - Rear: 0.8-1.6in
- https://www.tdotperformance.ca/kw-su...0-8-1-6in.html

What does the front/rear measurements mean? I daily drive my 1 series with no tracking intended as of yet. I don't want to slam my car but I would prefer to fill up the gaps.

For the StopTech brake kits, these are the options;
1) StopTech 978.34057 - Sport Brake Kit - Slotted And Drilled - 4-Wheel
- https://www.tdotperformance.ca/stopt...d-4-wheel.html

2) StopTech 979.34057 - Sport Brake Kit - Drilled - 4-Wheel
- https://www.tdotperformance.ca/stopt...d-4-wheel.html

3) StopTech 977.34057 - Sport Axle Pack Brake Kit - Slotted - 4-Wheel
- https://www.tdotperformance.ca/stopt...d-4-wheel.html

There's slotted & drilled, drilled or slotted. What would be considered the best in terms of longevity and quality?

I appreciate everyone's help, thank you!

Only reason to upgrade rotors is if you want 2 piece for weight savings.

Agree with MMT on Ohlins.

Agree with MMT on Ohlins.
The 135i already has two piece front rotors with aluminium hats. Any weight savings from doing the rear is minimal, and very expensive because of the parking brake inside the rotor hat. Have only seen one option for that.

We are in Vancouver too! Hey Neighbour!
I have KW's V1's on my m3 and I couldn't be more happy with them. We are looking at grabbing a set for my girls 1er with some black friday deals.
The Ohlins look like a great shock. But for a daily vehicle in a 4 season rain forest climate: Warranty and materials are a big consideration after cost is factored in. Ohlins cost us about 4k + in our canadian peso. Where the KW are stainless, lifetime warranty and cost 2k. The ride is great. Especially if you are not slamming your car. The street comfort would be a great choice for a daily - the V1's will be a little stiffer - But they are by no means harsh. They feel great and would be my recommendation. If I see a great deal on them I'll let you know too! just my two CAD cents.

If driven year round, agreed, the KW are a good choice. Had V2 in my winter/track Civic and was very happy with them.

Thanks for providing your opinions MightyMouseTech tavish! I read up on the Ohlins and they are fantastic coilovers! They are out of my budget range which is why I'm leaning more towards the KW route. I'm just going to pull the trigger on them

I followed all three pages tavish , you have one stunning looking e36 m3 my friend!

Really, How much more are they? When I got mine they were only 3-400 more.

The Ohlins Road & Track coilovers are $900USD more than the KW V1. I didn't find any cheaper Ohlin coilovers that are applicable for the E82.

Ohlins - $2360.50USD / 3073.34CAD
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ohlins-p...pace-mi01~ohl/

KW - $1449.00USD / 1886.58CAD
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-kw-suspe...-kit/10220039/

It's nearly $1500 more over the kw after taxes and fees. That's a bit too steep for me
I think that extra $1500 would be better invested in the M3 front and rear control arm upgrade kit from ECS

Not sure on your mods, but the M3 RSFB should be at the very top of the list.

Absolutely nothing yet other than full bolt on mods, I just recently started looking into these sort of modifications.

Would the M3 rear subframe bushings be a direct fit on the 135i subframe or would I have to swap to a 1M/M3 subframe before doing so?

It seems like the best brands to go for these bushings would be Turner and Powerflex. My guess is that there are certain bushings that are only limited to the M3 subframe. If that were the case, would it still be okay to have a mixture of m3 and 1 series bushing on the original 1 series sub frame? Would there be any downside doing it this way or do people typically swap to the m3 subframe and have a more "pure" setup?

Here are my findings for rear subframe bushing options;
- PowerFlex Race Polyurethane Rear Subframe Bushings – Front Position Set (Mfg Part # PFR5-420BX2) – FITS 135i/M3
- PowerFlex Race Polyurethane Rear Subframe Bushings – Rear Position Set (Mfg Part # PFR5-422BX2) – FITS 135i/1M/M3
- Turner Delrin/Aluminum Rear Subframe Bushing Set (Mfg Part # TDR9080SB4) – FITS 135i
- Turner Solid Rear Subframe Bushing Set (Mfg Part # TDR9080SRS) – FITS 1M/M3
- Turner Solid Rear Subframe Bushing Set (Mfg Part # TDR9080SS3) – FITS 135i

I'm just not sure about fitment for the specified "1M/M3" compatibility on the 135i.

Gotcha. If not tracking and for winter/4 season driving have you looked at the Billstein B14 PSS?

https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1133502

On the RSFB you have a few options. You can get the BMW M3 bushings which cost more with the install. Or there are other options like the Whiteline 2-piece or even cheaper inserts. There are lots of threads on the options. (I got the inserts and I'm happy enough with them for DD duty but if I was doing it over I'd get the 2 piece units).

The M3 bushings are direct fit in our 135i subframe. Fair bit of work to install. First thing I did to my car. I also tried the inserts in my E90, and the results are not as good, and they transmit more noise. Will be removing the inserts and installing M3 bushings in that car some day.

I had the inserts in my 135i and hardly noticed a difference. In hindsight I wish I would've went with the M3 bushings.
