Question: did you transfer the rubber vibration absorber from your stock exhaust over to the PE?

Good question, I don't think so. I think the guy just removed the old one and put the new one in. Should I have? Hope you put your crossmember back on.

Don't see any reason not to. I'll bet the PE vibrates as much if not more than the stock exhaust. Don't think anything will really happen without it. Maybe a little more drone.

BTW, the pic in my post above is not my car, but another member's...

Just finished tackling replacing the serpentine belt and replacing the tensioner and a couple of idler pulleys (if that's what they're called). I'm so glad I didn't have to pull the radiator fan out to do it. Because doing that looked to be a royal pain in the a$$. I couldn't figure out how to unhook what looks to be the transmission cooler off of the fan housing. I really don't know how the BMW tech did the PPK2 upgrade with the heavy duty fan without taking apart a bunch of stuff.

Might do a DIY write up. Took some pics but probably not enough to do a thorough write up though. But I'm glad I don't have to worry about the belt or those particular pulleys failing for quite some time now.

Had the water pump and thermostat replaced, (FCP Euro parts $400, $600 for fitting), due to failure. Also had the battery replaced and state inspection done. Next job is valve cover replacement. Good job I love this car!

It was questionably repainted so it explains the price. But he planned on wrapping a car anyway so not really an issue. The cost savings basically bought his wrap and some of my parts haha

The dealership said the guy that traded it in wanted a red car but bought a silver one. We're not sure if we buy it. Carfax was clean but that doesn't mean nothing happened. Could have been an ex keying the car or an off the books accident. Seems weird they'd spray it red though so maybe it was the truth

Dealer will say anything to get you to buy. Doesn't necessarily mean it was in an accident, though.

Totally agree. I think it was just some guy that took it to maaco or some shit. if it were accident or something, and trying to pass off a shady off the book repair they'd usually just paint it in shitty silver cheap paint to match the OEM stuff, not an exterior color change. Jambs were done but some shitty tape lines in areas. Hard to say. He figures he got it for a good enough price it doesn't matter to him

I ordered the rear hub conversion kit from ECS and dropped it off at the body shop for the rear end.

Look at the top of the forum, there's already some info on how to replace those belts....

Recently got some suspension work done. In the process one of my wheels got scratched and my fender got scratched and dented. They're paying for a new wheel and taking care of my fender. Shit happens. lol

On a positive note the new suspension kicks ass!

ya know... I do my own work, and one of the side benefits of that is that the mechanic is always easy to find and force to claim responsibility when things get borked up....

You, and your dealer, may just be the exception to my rule.... Lucky bastid...

My mechanic is less expensive tho

Don't know if I'd call that lucky.

My tech does great work, unfortunately, his helper fucked up.

At least they are accountable.

PS - thanks again for your thread regarding the refresh kit and extras.

Glad it helped!

Your mileage may vary of course, but at least there's a reference & a touchstone now
