It would probably make it for 4/14 or 4/17 vessel. Mine was completed on 4/1 and arrived to the port at 4/5. Someone has his vehicle sitting there since 3/28.

Are you sure it isn't being transported? Mine recently changed to that and we finished production at the same time. If it doesn't make one of the 4/11 ships, I will lose my mind.

I think I'm "in the same boat" with you Nice1. Completed the build on April 1, and as of this morning it went from transporting to the docks, to being at the docks awaiting the vessel.
So how are you seeing this one single boat available on the 11th? Any way to get the boat's name and tracking info? Also, not sure I followed why you were expecting yet more boat time after it makes the left coast. I was of the impression it was about a week from hitting the west coast before coming to my dealer in the Bay Area, California. Ordered on March 5. Man this is feeling like a long time. I sold my last sports car already and am growing quite tired of my old beater every day! |

i just got off the phone and spoke with a rep. i was told that it was being transported so i guess the automated response is one step behind. that info was updated today. the rep also told me that it normally takes only about a day to get to the port. at least i have a chance to get on one of the 4/11 ships. i feel a little better now but, like you, will go nuts if i have to wait the extra 2 weeks.

So now we have to wait for the shipper to take possession before we will get another update. Great.
Whatever happened to the Week 14 Support Group? We might be needing it. |

Wow - I didn't realize the timing was so long on these. According to the DBH system, there are two boats scheduled to leave Bermerhaven on April 11th, departing for Port Heuneme: the Grus and Isolde. The Grus is set to arrive in California on May 9, and the Isolde on May 5th.
That just seems like a long time, plus the week or two to clean it off and bring to the dealer lot. I've done special orders from Germany before, and this whole process feels much longer than I'm used to (did Porsche and Audi to the east coast). My order was in the queue for "next build" on March 5, and looks set to deliver in late May at the earliest. Very near 3 months. Is this normal for BMW? |

After we get on a ship we have the joy of tracking it and watching it move ever so slowly across the sea... The hardest part will be when it is turned over to the VPC. It can take from 7-14 days there... imagine no updates for 2 whole weeks? It will be like when I got my production number and then I listened to the same damn recording for almost 4 weeks before it finally changed...

Hello! I think I'm in this group. I made my decision on Saturday and asked my CA to check east coast inventory. They found one headed to NJ that was perfect save for two things I decided I could live without to have a shorter wait. So today they got that car diverted to me!
According to my status sheet, it was produced 4/2 and is currently 193 - waiting for a boat! Whee! |

Congrats! Lucky for you there were options you could live without. Non of what I wanted on the car was going to be left out, hence the total wait. Grrrrr.

Production complete 4/1, still in "awaiting release to carrier" status.
I just sold my 330, so I'm getting impatient now. Get that thing on a boat ASAP! |

I sure hope I am able to at least track the boats progress when I do get on a vessel.. I wld hate to have to not get at least a little progress update for almost 2 weeks.. it will be bad enough when it gets to the VPC but at least then I will know it is close to over...

The other thing it was missing was satellite radio, but they can install that for me when it gets here. I really wanted the instant gratification. Or as close to it as I can get. |

Getting tired of hearing that lady say, "Your vehicle is at port awaiting a shipping vessel." 4/1 completion... 6 days later, still waiting to get on a boat And I drove one on Saturday at my dealership - I shouldn't have, because now this wait is going to feel even LONGER!! How long at the prep center on the East coast before they get on a truck? I figure Chicago is only a 1 or 2 day trip from NJ.. So: 12 days on a boat, X days at the prep center, 2 days on a truck, 1 day at my dealer. Late April at the earliest, or first/second week of May at the latest, assuming I get on a boat in the next few days?!
