Anyone in N. California w/ tint on the front?
Just looking around to see if there is anyone on here from Northern California with tint on their front side windows. (Marysville, Yuba City areas)
I am getting stationed up there, coming back from Germany with my new 1 and just want to get a feel for how the cops up there might be towards my 1 with about 30% tint or so. I know the chance and most cops will get you for the tint, but just wanted to hear your opinions. If any of you are up that way and have any info for me that would be great. Thanks |

I have mine tinted, I forget the percentage, but it's pretty dark all the way around. I've been pulled over for it just once by CHP. I generally don't get hassled with it, and if you are cited, you just pay the fine (unless you want to get it fixed).
Such a stupid law if you ask me. When I was in Central Florida over the summer, everyone had dark side window tinting, even the cops! I'm in SF Bay Area, btw. |

It's pretty much you and your luck. My brother and I both got tint on the front side windows of our cars (my previous car) and he got pulled over about a year after having it on and I still haven't been pulled over *knocks on wood*.
Planning to get my sides tinted on my 1 now |

Yeah, I guess if your driving like an @ss you have more of a chance. I was just not sure. I am from PA, and if we get pulled over for it we have to prove with-in 72 hours that it was removed.
So what you are saying is if I do get a fine, I don't have to go to a court house/police station and show them it was removed, I can just pay the fine and be on my way again? I had a truck before my 1 and had 15% tint all around, I was never stopped before. So I was told it's the sport type of cars that the cops look out for. We will see, I'm gonna test my luck on this one.. Hell I'll try to pull the "I'm Military" and see where that gets me.... |

Oh I know, I would never try that anyways. Just joking about it, since I hear it all the time. That's not in my book of doing things. I'm in the Military and a cop so I know how the "do you know who I am, or I know_____" yeah hear it all the time.... Just gonna have to man up and take the ticket for it cuz I'm getting the tint done.

Well the DMV says no tints at all on the fronts, but I've seen alot of of it probably 35%. I'm from Eastbay btw and am planning on having 35% on the fronts and limou tints on the rears. Subscribed on this one.
