Heated Seats and Leather...

I was at a party tonight and we were discussing vehicles and options. Do you folks think that having and using heated seats would contribute to premature wear of leather due to the relatively intense temp. change? Just curious.

It probably will dry up the leather faster, so conditioning the leather more often would be wise move. HTH.

No, I had an e46 with leather and heated seats for 6 1/2 years. No problem. Remember, its not as if you use the heated seats 24/7. They are used for a fraction of time that you are in the car over say a one year period. You will not have any issues with leather/heated seats.

I have the same setup in my e90. No probs.

Cheers

I dont like big burley men.....but I like my heated seats. I usually dont turn them off of hi for the first 15 minutes that I'm in the car. It takes a while to penatrate through layers of clothing.

While on the subject of heated things, I would love for BMW to make my steering wheel in a heated version. My dad's Range Rover has this feature, and its a joy to handle a warm wheel.

Or for those who like to spoon with big, warm burley men, why not heat the stick shift as well?
