Sweet... 2:12.8 can you compare that to some other drivers runs who were there with you? How did those wrx's in the pictures hold up? Looks like a blast!

There were also 2 (rare) engine fires that day! ...one Integra and the other I think was a Civic or 350z. I didn't actually see the cars, but they were supposedly crispy and hauled away. The AMAZING thing was another car skidded off the track into the dirt (about 1 minute AFTER the Integra caught fire), and the huge cloud of dirt that was kicked up actually smothered and PUT OUT the flaming engine/car! |

Of the transponders, I was the 3rd fastest INTERMEDIATE. A heavily-modded Lotus Exige driver also turned 2:12.X that day (best lap); driver himself was experienced at Buttonwillow but claimed he was a relatively-slow driver. Fastest INTERMEDIATE time that day wasn't very fast... around 2:10. There was a fast Civic driver and a fast Miata driver that both clocked around 2:11.X. Most INTERMEDIATES clocked 2:11 - 2:25 for their best lap. The FASTEST (race) car, a fully race-prepped, supercharged Mustang ran 1:57.X... which is BLAZING fast. He DESTROYED every other car on the track that day (out of about 90 cars). |

It was my 2nd time for CW#13 in my 135i. In April, I did 2:12.45 (my first day, 5th run). 2:09.X is very fast for a Civic... must have been one of those fully-prepped, gutted hatchbacks on Star Specs.

Sat., November 21. Registration is not open yet... hopefully fee will be $180 or less. The STUSA SOW event in Dec. is also very tempting... especially if some beginner friends go. |
