I am going to be installing my sub pretty soon. I was wondering what you guys have done to secure it down and precent it from sliding and tipping over. Thanks.

On my current car (not a 1) I have a 12" box attached to the floor of the trunk by velcro. Unfortunately, the floor of the trunk now moves around. the velcro hasn't had any problems holding tho. And I can't possibly see it tipping over.

The sticky side of the velcro stuck well to the carpet of the box? FYI: The floor of the trunk in the 1 is a hard rigid carpet covered plastic type material. |

I can say that I've tried taking the box out before and it's not easy. That, to me, indicates that the velcro is doing its job well. |

get one of the custom boxes from TPLSM3, that thing does not move a mm and you get to keep 100% of your trunk space

Tie down straps, 2 M8 bolts. There are two tie-down points at the back that are quite sturdy you can use.
I drilled a hole through the false floor to get to the M8 threaded holes that are for hell knows what. You could integrate it into a wall enclosure, which would be ideal, and is the direction I'm going with two 15's. If your sub is loud enough, you are going to need to poly-fill the crap out of your rear deck, deaden your trunk lid, and poly-fill behind certain panels in the interior to keep the rattles down. I was delighted to hear that the rattles are significantly less than my old E36 was, so it was a good start. |
