135i custom valvetronic exhaust

I have a 2010 n54 135i and was looking at modifying my exhaust, the exhaust shop I went to suggested that before the rear muffler I splice in another pipe which would bypass the muffler and reconnect to the left tip of the exhaust just before the flapper valve. He also suggested I use the flapper valve that is already on the stock exhaust (either leave it where it is or move it to the new pipe) and find a way to control it so that I could choose to either make the flapper valve operate as it did stock and open above a certain rpm, and at the flick of a switch have the valve stay open so that the exhaust will come out of the new pipe that bypasses the muffler and essentially becomes a muffler delete. I was wondering is there something I can buy that can control the flapper valve or if I could buy an electric valve that controls the vacuum and sits along the vacuum tube and have this wired up to a button inside the car such as next to the headlights or the pdc so that it looks stock. Would also like to know if this is even possible and how I would go about doing this?
Thanks in advance

There is a valvetronic exhaust out there... it was like armytrix or something. I'll see if I can track it down.

EDIT: armytrix only does a dual tip for the 1 series hatch.

but FI makes one... be ready to part with some dough though...

Am I the only one here thinking you were talking about this?

JB4 can control the stock flapper valve if you choose to repurpose it (settings are always open, always close, or stock behavior). It's not exactly the "flick of a switch" though -- you have to navigate through the steering wheel controls to enable/disable it.

A cheaper option -- try googling "exhaust bypass valve", there are plenty of aftermarket kits that can be controlled remotely.

Post your setup if you do it, I'd love to see it!

I knew a guy that did exactly what you are talking about to his stock muffler (E82 N54) and it didn't sound much different at all. Not worth it, IMO. Essentially the stock muffler already does that, except inside the muffler. There's a thread around here somewhere where I cut the stock muffler apart to investigate what's going on in there.

I ordered a Electric exhaust cutout from summit made by QTP and have it but not installed yet. Will install between midpipe and axle back. Check out my IG @charmuth.135i for updates on my build

Just something else to add to this... back when I had my z06 I saw a lot of people on the forum did the muffler mod. They'd cut the muffler open and weld a straight through pipe. Might be worth a try

Out of curiosity did you make a custom valvetronic exhaust?
If yes please share your setup

I ended up getting an exhaust bypass made up which used the stock valve however I never ended up connecting the valve since it wasnt too loud. I am now running a muffler delete though

Bumping an old thread but I'm looking for exhaust options and this is something that looks interesting.

So whenever the flapper is open in the left tip, you have a straight pipe exhaust. And when the flapper is closed, the exhaust only exits the right tip and is muffled like OEM. Correct?
