White smoke on decel

I went to Cobb for a protune. Car pulled strong and everything seemed fine. I would get a good bit of white smoke after each hard dyno runs on the decel. Oil has been changed recently car does have a bms occ. I havent noticed it in town smoking nor on spirited drives. My mods are in my signature. All parts have been professionally installed.

I would be interested in seeing a video of this to see how bad it really is.

Depending on the weather, it could just be condensation. It may not be visible under load due to exhaust velocity and/or the temperature. Did you get hit by this cold front? One of the products of combustion is water, and it will be visible if the weather is cold and dry enough, and the exhaust is moving slowly enough out of the tailpipe.

Otherwise, white smoke generally indicates coolant, which is usually a blown head gasket. But our cars are not known for blowing head gaskets. Does it smell sweet? Like maple syrup? That would definitely indicate you are eating coolant.

I'm sure someone will say "turbo" but I'll pre-empt that and say incredibly unlikely. The water jack isn't open to the turbine shaft. Oil is, but that is generally slightly blue-tinted smoke, not white. Was it at all blue tinted?

Anyway, good luck interneting your research for this if your Protuner-licensed shop wasn't helpful in person. They should have know all of what I said above and been able to help you diagnose. Then again, lots of ignorant 25 year old kids with daddy's money opening shops these days...

Does your car have ANY cats? ie: do you have down pipes? Do you still have the mid pipe cats?

My bet is its your turbo shaft seals. Many FBO guys have reported white smoke like this. You could have a shop use a CO2 sniffer at the coolant res cap to check for CO2 leaking into your coolant. Is your coolant level Ok?

thanks for all your guys replies. I am using ar downpipes catless and hpf full exhaust. I will definitely look into co2 in the coolant and look into the rob beck pcv valve.

It is a good amount that came when they did my dyno wot the entire time on the decel. It wasn't always just flowing out on decel just at a point it would buff a good bit for 10s then stop. I did get hit by the cold front this was last saturday in Texas. Also there was no sweet smell to me it smelled like oil. I didn't see a blue tint at all in the smoke.

The shop was Cobb so I hope they know what they are doing.

My shop doesn't seem to think that bc it is not just spewing smoke just a slight amount after heavy wot on decel. I will go check my coolant level.

I am about to hit 41k and after the protune I hit at the highest 19.6. On my p3cars gauge I don't see as high numbers as I previously did on stage 2 fmic aggressive map. Car seems to make boost pressure well.

I have trouble seeing the smoke honestly on decel. I saw it on the dyno but not since. Do u actually see yours when u look through your rear windshield.

Yea I can see it out the back and when I stop at a light nice amount comes out can't have windows down... got it checked this week and there is a leak, oil coming out of the turbos one more than the other. So definitely the seals are done. Time to for new turbos :/

That sucks they are covered for 88k or it may be time for RB turbos.
