Meh I'm not a fan of motor choice. I dont understand why they chose to change the 6 Piston Brembo Brake Calipers and Rotors. Not a fan of the cheap exhaust choice with the Akrapovic mufflers. Other than those two things I love the car.

I wasn't aware BMW had a factory in "Lipzij"
That made me cringe a bit for someone that claims they're a BMW enthusiast.

The Brembos that come on our 135i cars are mostly show. They're pretty good on street, but they're not great for frequent track usage. A lot of 135i owners around here even switch to the 335i brakes, which don't look impressive, but are actually better.

People love these things. A 135i converted to an S65/1M clone was bid to $70k on Bring a Trailer a couple of years ago.

I beg to differ. I circuit track my car at COTA and the oem 6 Piston Brembos with Yellow Stuff Track Pads with R1 Concept Slotted Rotors are freaking powerful.

That's the S85, not the new S58. Looks you and I are both transposing numbers.

Am I hearing things or does an alarm pop up on the cluster every time he gives it a little gas?

I do the same, but there are loads of threads about the pistons cracking and rotors overheating, because the rotors are thin. They’re usually fine for some amateur track days, but, if I was rebuilding the car, I’d certainly swap them for something better, and the 335i and 1M/M3 brakes are better performers, despite not looking so on paper.

Why would one ruin this car? What's next? An S85 from an e60?

That's what I'm thinking about putting in my 135i. Can't wait to ruin it with a V10

The stock 135i calipers use ceramic piston inserts which crack and crumble to dust. It's been a well known and common issue since the car released in 2008. There's a couple other solutions to this besides swapping out new calipers. Stoptech makes a compatible piston and seal kit which eliminates the issue

This is my favorite 1-M-M3 build

About 1/3 of this, including the cost of the car. I've seen the car posted numerous times only to get roasted for the price. There's no reasonable combination of circumstances that would justify this price lol You could overpay on a MINT real 1M, S65 swap it, and still be worlds under that cost.

The production value was dreadful but the car and the sound of the S65 is absolutely intoxicating. It is a really sweet car.
