EBC yellowstuff for track
Has anyone tried going on track with EBC yellowstuff? How are they like? did you have to change the front and rear pads before and after track everytime?
THANKS!! |

Ran them on my 335 on the track, never had a complaint. They can be a little squeaky in day to day driving, and they did wear the rotors down faster then stock, but they never faded or got soft on the track.

I went thru 3 sets. Fantastic on the track. A bit noisier than stock on the street. Be warned though these were dusting a lot more than OEM and didn't have much initial bite when it was cold.

Yeah, not low dust by a long shot - but at least it washes off pretty well.

Comparing 2,500 lbs. Miata to 3,400 lbs. 135i is probably not a good idea, but I have cited that same test many times before as well. On my RSX (2,700 lbs.) I found the EBC Yellows to be great on the street and decent on the track. A very worthy dual-use pad if you don't mind lots of dust. However, on heavy braking tracks (Laguna Seca) the Yellows disappointed. I cooked them my last time out, and I'm a pretty tame driver including braking inputs. I swapped in my Hawk HP+ pads and they held up much better. It's too bad because the Yellows are quite a bit cheaper. Maybe I'll give them a go on the 135i at Thunderhill which is much easier on brakes than Sears Point or LS. |

Ok if you're a beginner/intermediate, but you'll overheat them as you pick up the pace and/or increase your grip (r-comps, etc.). Same for HP+'s.
Good, cheap starter track pads though. |

I think the HP+ overheat way to quickly. The best performance for the price imo is Stoptech performance street.
They have less bite, but they handle much more heat than the HP+. These pads are dirt cheap..... Didnt think they were track pads initially, but then one night I was too lazy to swap to my track pads and drove these up. I was pleasantly surprised. |
