Enjoy it. The Gen 6 Camaro will run rings around a 135i, road and track.

Don't know why the hate for an OG 1er owner.
Congrats on your purchase and move! I really dig the new camaros especially since the first Transformers movie! Not sure if pictures have been posted yet but please splash them up.

I liked the Saleen Mustang police car from the first Transformers movie. On the side of the car it says "to punish and enslave" instead of "to protect and serve". Haha

The big issue has been noise from the differential in early 2016 production caused by contamination of the lubricant. A fluid change usually fixes it. I am startled to see the trade in value of a 2012 135i has dropped $2k since December 21. As I mentioned before the money issues mainly changed the timing. I wanted that car regardless.

The 135i is half the car of the Camaro size wise. Can't compare a new car to one that is older. If both came off the production line today then you could compare. My father owns a hotrod (1974 Trans-Am with a 494 big block), he likes my lil 1er and always mentions that if he owned it, he would be in trouble. My uncle owns a Camaro SS as well, it's alright, but not the same feeling as the BMW brand. It's bloody quick as well, although me being in Canada, the Camaro was built in the Oshawa GM line back when they were first produced. The Camaro had an 100% fail rate, meaning that there was always some kind of issue that needed to be address off every production car off the line. I myself would go for a Dodge Viper, but they are not close in price range.

So a couple of points in this thread I wanted to respond to (and I still own a 128i, NOT a a Camaro SS). These are my personal observations only.
1. The curb weight of a GEN6 (2016+) 1SS coupe is 150 pounds heavier the my 128i (Vert)...135i coupe compared to 1SS is more like ~300 pounds. The Camaro SS weighs more but a 6 cylinder Camaro coupe and a 135i Coupe weigh about the same and have close to same SAE (rated) HP/Torque numbers. 2. Handling-wise I'd say after modifying my base 128i (Michelin PSS (Square), Koni Yellows, HR Sport Springs, M3 subframe bushings, M3 Front Control Arms, Dinan Fixed Front Camber Plates and HR Front 28mm Anti-Sway Bar, etc...) that the 1SS and 2SS I've driven overall still handle better than the 128i. However, Coupe vs. Vert, I know... 3. The interior of the GEN6 2SS is much improved over the GEN5 but it's still not any better than my lowly 128i. 4. Hydraulic steering feel is so much better in the 128i than the electric assisted crap in the SS. The SS rack is very good and in my limited exposure compared to other marques including a 328i loaner (come-on I had to get "rack" and "exposure" in the same sentence). 5. LSD, not yet legal here in CO.

I'm not interested in the DCT, A8 or A10 for that matter....personal taste. And how can you have a nice trip without LSD....well, I haven't added one to my 128 yet but the mFactory one looks to pass the acid test.

Everytime I ponder getting rid of my 135i car I go out and drive it then get out of the car and turn around and look at it's beauty. I'm smitten.

DCT is awesome but nothing beats running through the gears on a back road with no one around. I think that is what he is getting at.
