Rear Control Arm Options?

What are some of the better rear control arm options than OEM M sport? I have one bent and I'm looking to replace it and get the car ready before winter is over. I've heard about using M3 ones, but I'm not sure if anything else needs to be modified or its a direct bolt in. Are there any aftermarket options as well? I am looking ideally for firsthand experience but any advice is appreciate. On this 135 I figure no reason to replace with stock when I can keep upgrading. If it matters at all I'm on the Koni STR.T suspension.

Thanks for the help.

M3 arms are the perfect replacement. Nothing else needed. I did front and rear at the same time. Alignment was definitely needed after. Along with the Whiteline rear subframe bushings the rear end is solid. No wiggle at all.

Thank you I'm assuming it's e92 m3 parts that fit not e90?

Where did you get these parts? I don't wanna screw up and order the wrong thing. I'd like to get the full whiteline bushings but I'm not confident in ordering the right ones. I don't want the inserts. All new bushings I'm over 100k miles now.

Thanks so much

The whiteline bushings you want (full 2 piece) are part number KDT917:

https://whitelineperformance.com/col...17-bushing-kit

You can order direct or from many other vendors (just google the part number). I can't comment on the M3 parts, but it won't matter E90 or E92 as they use the same control arms. There is a lot of information already as this is a very popular upgrade. Just keep in mind not all of the rear control arms can be swapped unless you change other components as well.

FWIW it's worth, after researching the rear M arms I opted to just do the guide arms. Consensus was they were the parts worth upgrading.

Read this thread for more detail.

I'd made a mistake and forgot to add these when I redid my suspension a few weeks back. I have to pay someone to put them in, but do you know if it's an easy job? I'm just wondering what to expect to pay for the install. Thanks!

Like I mentioned, only did the guide arms. I did it myself and it's not too difficult. Just a remove and replace. It's difficult to get the subframe end tightened up - no way I could get a torque wrench in there. I would guess it's about 2 hours or less for a shop.

I bought the full control arms front and rear from my local mechanic. ECS Tuning is good place to get them too. Install wasn't too bad. The rear was easier than the front. An alignment is definitely needed after doing the front. Not sure for the rear.

Only arms that need to be replaced in the rear suspension are the toe arm, and, if you're tracking, replacing the upper link with an adjustable unit for additional camber. Everything else should be left stock.

I have a bent rear control arm that's why I'm looking into it. I ended up ordering the m3 front and rear arms kit from FCP to do it once and be done at the same time I do the whiteline bushings.

Same exact suspension on the E92 and E90.

M3 guide and upper links are a direct bolt on. The lower camber links and the toe arms are not.

Adjustable guide, upper and toe arms are available with spherical bearings from RE, SPL, Dinan and other BMW tuners.
