Smokey Diesels
I've always noticed Diesel cars smoking a little bit on South African Roads. I thought it was from the 3000ppm diesel - but the other day I managed to video my car (which has been on a strict diet of 500ppm diesel) and it also smokes a bit!
Here is a link to the video: http://broken1.e90post.com/movie.htm Any other 320d owners: Try and post a short clip of your car sitting and revving and also state what diesel you use? (500ppm/50ppm/10ppm) I hate smokey diesels. |

Ps. I remeber E90Fleet saying something about particulate filters...
I think the straight 320d exhausts have it? Maybe not! Post your clips :-) My clip is: Starting car. Revving to 2000rpm Revving to 3000rpm Revving a bit more Turning car off |

In Ireland at least, the 320d doesn't come with a particulate filter BUT you can order it as an option and it can be retrofitted to the car at any stage. As far as I remember, it was not cheap at around €800.

Edit: No, sorry, incorrect. Particle filtre is € 580 for 1-series. All others come with it as stock. |
