I don't mind a little fender rolling, but I guess it will greatly depend on the tire shoulder shape.

Happened to me on my E46 330i, where I put 18x8 and 18x9 OZ Superleggera's with 225/255 PS2. Worked beautifully, PS2 has a rounded shoulder. But after I switched to PS1 in the same size, I had rubbing and had to roll the fenders a little. No biggie.

I absolutely love the OZ, they are lightweight and surprisingly strong - and I dig their association with motorsports.

Remember this is a 5 door not a coupe!

Tried to that the picture as best as I could completely flush with the tyre (no angle) to give the best impression of amount of tyre within the guard.
As you can see on the 5 door there isn't a problem.

Thanks Blacky, that's a good pic for showing the fit and it is nice. Is there any difference in the rear fender on the 5-door? Over hear we only got the two door.

Just passing by here sometimes but thought that a post would be appreciated since I received my Alleggerita's today.

When I first saw this thread I knew I had to order the Alleggerita's right away for my 123d 3-dr, having good experience of the Ultraleggera on my previous car. So I received them today, thing is it's still winter season here so I am (very) early. But at least I wont be troubled by the chaos that comes back every year when all Swedes suddenly realize they need summer tires. Anyhow, some things to share:

I got myself a set of 17x8.5" all round, and each comes with a lable:

These are about 0,5kg more than announced for this size. But as with bikes, I figure manufacturers always advertize "best case". It's not like I would notice the difference...

The wheel is deeper than I amagined, looks very "japanese racing" to me:

As I said, it's still winter here but as I had my car lifted to fit new winter tires I fitted one Alleggerita to have an idea how it will look like (warning for dirty picture ):

Looks good enough for me, mostly looking forward to experiencing how 20kg less wheelweight (compared to stock 17" M207 with runflats) and non-runflat tires (GY F1 Asymmetric) affect the handling. Just need to wait till all the ice and snow is gone...

Cheers and thanks for pointing these out to me

Another P-CHOP. These are Ultraleggerras. I like them better.

Here you go, spring has come (but will it stay?):

First impressions: increased comfort especially in potholes, car no longer feels heavy-footed. Perfect

Set-up: 17x8.5 ET40 with GY F1 Asymmetric 225/45 all round.

those wheels are light i have them in 8.5x17 for my racecar but 17inch looks kinda small for a 1 series.

But for road i would def go for 18.

But the driving is perfect you feel the lightness of the wheel. And acceleration is a tidy bit better. For racing perfect the 17inch for road i would go 18inch.

I know that everyone goes for 18" these days, but I actually like to see some tirewall on a rim. Also a rim that is wide compared to its height looks better to me, these 17x8.5 wheels have a lot of depth without being excessively wide.
And for road use, the roadholding/comfort ratio is very important to me (we have rough roads i bad shape here), and there the lighter 17" with the higher tire wall do a better job. Dynamically speaking there is no reason to have ultralowprofile tyres either.
Just explaining my reasoning for going for 17"...

Actually, I don't even now if 17" fits over the 135i front brake caliper, anybody know?
