ipod dvd tv

hey dom...

do you happen to have any pictures of explorer3253's installation? he had posted that he had an appt. with you over the weekend with his e90; can you provide some positive feedback on the install? also your site does say it is compatible with the new 3 series, but on you other page it only lists it as 1997-2005. http://www.tvandnav2go.com/bmw-tv-navigation.html i know for sure you will get more sales if you provide valid proof of install to our specific car. we are all waiting for results.

How does it compare to the NAV-Tv.com solution? I have been dealing with Moni from Nav-Tv for years and find him to be highly experienced in this area.

Hey..I was supposed to have an appointment, however when I contacted him the day before, he didn't have any units in stock. I am awaiting a call from him to find out when I can bring the car down to have it installed.

IPOD DVD/TV on your Nav screen

Hi Frank_NJ
Quite simply Nav-TV sells a similar unit for $750 dealer price. We sell the unit for $550. 4 video inputs, 3 audio inputs and 1 audio output. You can call them and ask them, they will tell you that the New BMW 3, 5 and 6 series cars all use the same mod. The unit has a 1 year warranty.
Thanks Dominic

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it down this weekend as I have an appointment to have my tint fixed. I am probably going to be on a business trip for the next 2 weekends. Last weekend was one of my few free weekends. I'll see what I can do for this weekend. Perhaps I can move my tint appointment around a bit...Let me know when you do get it in.

Dominic,

I just posted the following question on your website's forum section:

Hi,

I am interested in seeing how the tv unit looks on an E90. Additionally, your tv module requires an external dvd player. If the E90 with nav comes with a cd player and a dvd player, where am I gonna put an external dvd player and still make my setup be simple and comfortable? Can you make the bmw dvd player be used for the tv module so all one has to do is stick a dvd in the dvd player on the car?

Thanks.

Cool IPOD DVD/TV on your Nav screen

Hi magamaga
Hope all is well.
If you want to see pictures of what the car looks like with DVD interface you can go the the www.E60.net forum
http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=15640
or do a search for my nick domofnavwithtv
You can see pictures of the unit and the screen playing. You will also see how Everyone is VERY happy with the product. The E90 uses the same screen as the NEW BMW 5 and 6 series. The unit 100% works on an E90 or your money back. If your car already has a dvd player (NOT YOUR NAV UNIT) you can use it to display video on the front screen. If not you will need a dvd player, which has to go in the trunk.
Thanks Dominic

Hi nawtyxes
Nothing FISHY here. The units exists if you go to http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=15640
You will see the unit and the screen. The E90 has the same screen as E60 so this is what you will get.
Thanks Dominic

Dominic,
I'm in on the group buy, price and funds allowing.

Some questions:

1.Which one of the two remotes comes with the system?
2.Do you have to turn the unit on before the video input for it to auto sync properly or can the video unit be activated by the car's iginiton (always on)?
3.How long are the LCD cables and RF cable in feet? I dont want to mount my unit behind the LCD. Is it long enough to go under the glove box or the passenger footwell area?
4.Does your system override the car's video signal as long as it is powered?
5.How much noise is added by using this system to the original input?
6.If the LCD cables are infact too small, can you include longer calbes?
7.How long does it take to power on? If I wire it in to power on to my reverse camera when I shift in reverse, will I have to wait several seconds or will it be near instant?
8.Is there any way to avoid using the remote? Possibly have a momentary contact switch which woud toggle through the inputs?
9.Can you deactivate inputs so that you wouldnt toggle through them?
10.Are you or will you be working on a system that could merge the two signals and display the inputs on the left side while the assistance window is carried over from the car's video signal?

I'd like to see one of the members get it and post their pictures and videos.

I got in touch with Gary Tepper, who is a sales rep for Nav-TV. The price he quited me for a 3 input unit was $1500 with a special offer now of $1250. I asked him for some justification of the high end pricing and he replied with the following information:
Quote:
Dear Poldim,

I understand your question and I respect it. However what you don’t know is that NAV-TV was the FIRST to offer nav screen integration. There are a lot of companies out there that let us do the entire R & D buy one and make a copy using cheaper parts. Is there a Plug & Play using BMW factory plugs? Do they have tech support that can walk you through any problem or question you might have?

In your e-mail you never mentioned a group buys. Let me know how many you are looking for and I will get with the owners on pricing.

I have sent him a link to this thread so that he can share his innformation and opnions with the rest of the forum.

Cool IPOD DVD/TV on your Nav screen

Hi Poldim
Hope all is well.
You can tell Nav-TV nice try, but they don't make the units. They never did and never will. Yes our units are Plug and Play with BMW factory plugs 4 video inputs , 3 Audio inputs and 1 Audio output. There is NO Cheaper parts or Quality that is just a nice sales pitch. As you saw from the E60 forums my quality, service and tech support
is 2nd to none. You get your best price and I will beat any price you get on ANY RGB unit for ANY car. All our units have a 1 Year no questions asked warranty. We have been around for 35 years in the Car Audio and Video business.
Thanks Dominic of www.TVandNav2Go.com

Hey Dominic,

I just don't see the dvd player going in the trunk. If I want the kids in the car to watch a DVD movie, I just don't see me stopping the car to change the dvd to watch another movie. There's got to be a way to install a dvd player in a way that it doesn't ruin the looks of the inside of the car and it is easily accesible.

Why is your unit so expensive? There are other units for $550 which are also plug and play and have 4 inputs total. What does your product have that warrants the price?

I’m by no means trying to belittle you with the questions, just doing my research. The forum I am currently on is very interested in the product offered by your competition and he is also providing a group buy to the forum.

Thanks,

Poldim

Dear Poldim,

The interface is BMW56, it gives you 2 video inputs and 1 backup camera input. It’s a plug & play so you don’t have to cut any wires. The retail price is $1500.00 but right now you can get it fro $1250.00.

Also, do you have a price list for your components?

Just buy the mini PS2, and secure it under one of your seats. Its not that hard to find a solution to such a trivial problem.

Mark me down as interested in a group buy if we can get the price down to 400 or below, and we can get a testimonial on a e90 3 series installation with some photos.

Hi
At the $550 price you are still getting a GREAT deal compared to the competions price of $1250, but here is the price break down.
1-5 units= $550
6-10 units=$500
11-15 units=$475
16-20 units= $450
Thanks Dominic of www.TVandNav2Go.Com
