Yeah but they missed the E46?
Really hope this isn't a repost , but stumbled across this when I thought I'd read everything ever posted in the world on the M3 and 1M.
Interesting read, interesting also are the blog comments following the article. Enjoy if you haven't seen it. BMW 1M vs. BMW E36 M3, E92 M3 and Z4 M http://www.bmwblog.com/2011/07/22/bm...2-m3-and-z4-m/ |

You are right, I also did not read this before but most of us watched the video back then. So, this is the text that should accompany the video.
Andre is Advevo as we all know and the owner of the E92 M3 who ordered a 1M afterwards might well be Robin

I was'n there when they took the test but it was taken in my hometown. I also had a E90 M3 before and though the engine is a masterpiece, it lacks torque in daily driving, caused mainly by the E9x M3 higher weight and the 6MT gearing is way too long. Better opt for the DCT M3. 1M is better as a drivers car 99.9% of the time. Cheers Robin |

Judging by the response, you'd be excused for thinking I'd just stolen someone's first born and burnt down their family home. I'm apparently a hypocrite for buying a 1M instead. |

The e46 was missed because the Z4M is already there. It's also an S54 powered car and probably lighter. I'm not sure how well tuned and developed its suspension is compared to the e46 M3 but I'll assume it's virtually identical in terms of competence.
