Unhappy wood trim unavailable!

Just received a call from my dealer that BMW can no longer supply the wood trim (walnut) that I ordered for my car (walnut is the only wood trim available in Canada) and we don't know when they will be able to supply it either. I had ordered 330i artic, sports pack, w/wood trim + beige 'ette, expected delivery end of August. Won't look nearly as rich with aluminum trim.
I am the first to hear about this backorder problem?

There have been a number of reports from a couple manufacturers in the last week about shortages of wood trim

this might sound crazy but I will trade you straight up for your aluminum, I have the dark wood (1 week old) and id rather have the alum, to match my silver on black...interested? the wood is selling for 300 dollars more than alum on ebay....lemme know...email or im me at dmbigs@aol.com

Thanks for the offer but it will be complicated as:
1. I'm in Montreal and there's the issue of distance.
2. Apparently, the switch takes about 5 hours (so there's a cost issue as well).
3. My car's not arriving until the end of August.
4. My dealer just called me back and he will (at his cost) switch the trim from an incoming (dealer ordered) wood trim equipped car for my aluminum trim (assuming that the wood trim will still be unavailable when the time comes to produce my car.)

Sorry to hear that you're unhappy with your wood trim. Perhaps someone else will take you up on your offer.

Hi, this is off topic but...
Which local dealer did you get your car from? and how much off msrp did you get?
I bought from Laval (best deal), Also, they had a car in Halifax destined for their dealership with the specs I wanted. Ordered May 30th, expected june 20th, still, hard to wait. 330i black on blackette, burl trim. (go habs go)
