Head Unit Upgrade

Hello all,

I am interested in upgrading the head unit in my 2011 128i. It has the "Professional" logo on the radio if that helps determine it's type. I'd like something with more modern bluetooth streaming support, and a screen that doesn't fade when temperatures are above 80F (the most annoying flaw). I don't really care to add a backup camera or DVD player. What sort of plug and play options are available out there for our cars?

Note that i tried searching but quickly became overwhelmed by the terminology and acronyms. I'm a bit outdated in my stereo upgrade knowledge. The last time i messed with a car stereo, an aftermarket single DIN head unit with harness and trim adapter was all that was required. I am clearly behind the times.
