The door pull is too far forward making me slam the door to close it.

The button on the stalk has nothing to do with the dial on the front that I've noticed, it only seems to impact the intermittent wipers. The button controls the rain sensor automatic wipers toggle.

My car wiper stalk has two positions (flipped up), normal and fast. The wheel has no effect. Only when the rain sensor is on (button on the end of the stalk, green LED is lit) does the wheel do anything... seems to be a sensitivity setting for the rain sensor. I have no everyday intermittent wipers.

Ok, here we go again.

1. Stock suspension.
2. Interior build quality.
3. Seating position with memory seats.
3. Rain sensor.
4. Weak key fob signal.
5. Lack of LSD.

The sport seats in black leather make your back and backside sweat in warm weather no matter how much you blast the AC.
Even considering I am fit and lean, the wraparound side and thigh bolsters allow no air flow and there is no way around a sweaty back in hot weather.

I could probably look past everything else if it were possible to fit wider wheels.

I'm curious to what you drive since it is not listed in your flair. As another user posted a more in depth post about using our "special" stalk previously in this thread.

/edit just kidding you are listed in your sig, can I get another n55 guy to confirm you can't control your wipers?

The dial adjusts the sensitivity of the auto wipers.

My leather seats are tan, just as sweaty. Contemporary leather in cars now days comes "coated" or sealed. Nearly all the automakers do this now. It's great for stain resistance but the leather loses its breathability which sucks because that's one of the reasons people buy leather seating in the first place.

what? it changes the speed of the wiper....

Flick the wiper stalk up to turn on intermittent wipers, the dial on the front controls the speed of the swipe. Flick up again to increase the speed. Flick the stalk down to wipe once, flick it toward you and hold to spray fluid. Headlight washers are programmed to spray every few washes if automatic headlights are on. The button on the end is the toggle for Automatic Wipers. Mine works fine, but sometimes if the rain isn't quite heavy enough I will use the intermittent setting instead.

Wiping action after windshield spray can be changed (# of swipes) through car coding. I have mine set to 4 wipes per spray. Headlight washers can be completely disabled or interval changed via vehicle coding.

Idk what else you guys want in a wiper. YOU either personally set the damn speed or hit the auto button on the end. nothing less nothing more

Exactly. It might be "leather", but on the surface it's plastic. You guys treating your seats with luxurious leather balms are just laying the stuff over the top. Use Vinylex instead.

Agree with the OP, I hate this.

Correct - I use 303 on my BMW leather because it is what's called for. Leather "conditioners" and creams are a waste of money on modern leather (unfortunately).

If you put a drop of water on new leather seats and it beads up - coated.
If the drop of water soaks in - good old fashioned hides, treat it appropriately.

BMW wants your car to get through the warranty period (and just as important to them - your lease) so they can put your stain free leather optioned car through its CPO program when it comes off lease. If the leather falls apart after 100k miles its on you to fix it.

I bought an 08 128 6M with 32k miles in June 16. The only options are silver paint, and butt toasters. I've owned many cars. I don't like the plastic seats, and would like cloth, and a bit more lumbar support.

Other than that, it is a bit more than I expected in every way. I was impressed with the non sport suspension on the track as I chased my buddy in our DE prepped 944S. Its also a lot better on a commute than the 944.

so does the dial change the sensitivity or the speed? note that they are not mutually exclusive

for me would be not having a/c vents in the rear. granted you don't take people too much in a 1-er....

Both, depending on whether you have turned the auto wiper function on or not.

When you press the button on the end of the stalk and the little green light comes on, then the auto wipers are on and the dial adjusts the sensitivity.

If you just flick the stalk up one notch (don't press the button on the end), then the wipers are on intermittent and the dial adjusts the delay between wipes.

Have to agree with the wheel offset problem. The interior creeks a lot. Its not bad if you go about fixing them. Trunk space sucks at times; but then again its a small coupe and you don't buy it for trunk space. Backseats are useless unless the front seats are moved all the way forward.

Basically it will be tough to use as a family car. But as a DD or weekend toy its perfect.

Yup the interior does creak a bit. But I was used to Japanese cars, and my transition into German cars involved many of my friends' quirky Volkswagens (Jetta, R32 and a W8) so I've gotten used to it. Plus with the music up and/or the windows down you can't hear anything.

I thought the trunk space was pretty damn good considering the size of the car. It can fit my tackle box, lawn chairs, fishing poles, cooler, buckets with zero issues. I only have to put the rear seats down for the fishing pole cuz I can't be bothered to take it apart each time lol.

But yeah those rear seats are useless. Great for a dog though!

My qualm with the car is its seemingly endless maintenance list and even longer list of mods (although this second one is an advantage). I've replaced damn near everything and I still have a few things to buy (rear rotors are toast, new power steering fluid on the way, etc). Every time i log into e90post or 1addicts I find a new little bit I can put on the car for the low price of $100. Rev motorong silicon intake, that 1 series under hood liner, e46m3 trans mounts, etc.

I think the 135i couple specifically (or 128i M-Sport coupe) is one of the best looking BMWs ever. I saw a 135i today in stock form and it reminds me of why I love this car. It's such a classic design that stands out.

I do think the interior materials could get a bump in quality though. Compared to an E90 3 series, it is lacking.
