335i?

A few questions regarding the 335i, for anyone in the know.

(1) Will BMW release US pricing in June? Maybe in conjunction with the release of the small brochure? Any guesses?

(2) Will BMW still utilize the 3.25-litre engine from the E46 M3? Maybe offer an upgrade to the 335i like Audi does with its A4- to an S4?

(3) With the 335i's Sports Package, one can upgrade to 18-inch wheels. Has anyone heard of a M-Package for the 335i with the 19-inch wheels which will be standard on the new M3?

Thanks.

I don't know. But there is a possibility that they will wait till the sometime in August/Sepember when they start production. My reasoning is based on inferring unit production cost for the respective regions based sales volume. Waiting till the end of MY2006 production will help structure their pricing relative to geographic markets, better still- the competition would have played some of their cards on the table.

I do not see this happening. There is a strong believe in BMW that M engines which are high revving NA engines, are not practical to everyday driving application. I might be wrong, but I see the M engines staying with the M cars.

There has been no mention of this, but I am sure there will be some sort of a sports package that will come with the 335i that will offer 19" wheels and a tighter suspension system etc.

1) Only BMW knows

2) No. Details of the turbo N54 for the 335i have been out a long time

3) No official details of what wheels the M3 will get, and no other BMW will get its wheels.

Anyways, What Im worried about is buying the E92 now and then a few months down the road they come out with an M-sport package!

And I love the M sport bumper on the E90 compared to stock. So will I be able to buy those parts and have they put on a few months later? Around how much would that cost? and can I sell my old bumpers and parts?

If you feel that way just wait until the E92 M3 is released and then you should be able to get a feel for what a possible "M" sport pack for a 335 would look like and then determine if it's worth waiting for. E92 M3 will be out in about a year and a few months, not that long if you're planning on keeping your next car for 5 years or so.

Bizarre, thought I posted a response to BenMW, but it never appeared. Ah well, the gist was expect to pay 3k for M-sport externals with paint and installation. 1k (?) for stock part trade-in (anyone have data on this?).
