That's a pretty common design, but I think I saw those wheels on a 540i.

That´s the BMW OEM wheel style 42

Available on the E46 and the Z3. It´s a 16x7 inch wheel with an offset of 46mm. Usually run with 225/50R16 tires.
Also available in 16x6.5 inches with a 42mm offset for 195/65R16 tires.

The offset is wrong for the E90, in case you´re wondering.

In case you want to check out more OEM wheels,

here´s the most comprehensive list on the net:

No, they don´t fit the 540. But it´s a common design theme, so you might have seen similar looking wheels on a 5. But not that wheel exactly

I just checked that awesome site, and the 42 came up for the E39s.

That´s a different wheel. Can´t you spot? The OP´s pictures is not a (faked) three piece wheel (no bolts).

The picture you have there is of the BMW OEM style 42 Mk II. It´s also a different size (available in 17 and 18 inch)

Any chance it(42 wheel) would work on the E90 with that offset???? Will it clear the calipers/brakes???

You might be able to run it with 10mm spacers.
But since its a 16inch wheel, it´ll look a bit small (just as the stock 325 non-sp wheel). I wouldn´t go through the trouble. If you´re going through the hassle of getting different wheels anyway, try to go at least for 17inches. The E90 looks silly with wheels smaller than 17inches.

Just wanted to use it as a spare. I replaced my RF's with all seasons. I was just going to throw this in the trunk. It came with a Michelin MXV Plus Tire virtually new.

I see. Good idea. Well, I guess, you´ll just have to mount it for a test.

The type 44 rim is a 8x17inch E46/E36 rim with an offset of 47mm. (usually run with 225/45R17 tires). The same problem as with the type 42: The offset is about 10mm more than on a stock E90 wheel. Running those wheels on an E90 would reduce the track by 10mm per side unless your run spacers.

Btw, for allmost all BMW OEM wheels you´ll find pictures and specs on this site:

Went with the Type 44 wheel. Will use this as my spare. Hopefully if needed to be placed into emergency service it will suffice. It was in great condition with a Bridgestone Potenza 80% tread for $50. Not baddddddd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
