Agreed! I have rented a couple in Portugal, and they were awesome. That is actually why I went with the 128i back at home.

I rented a 1er hatch in Portugal last year! Obviously more utility, and the back seats felt a bit roomier... that might have just been in my head, I was always in the driver's seat anyway. Felt odd driving a diesel 1er, and I was always wanting for more power though.

Needed a 1er with the M57. Shame it never happened. Also love the E81/87 hatches. Would have snagged a 5 door as a companion to my coupe in a heartbeat if they had come to the US.

Small petrol engines are fun especially if they're high revving. Small diesels are a bit soul crushing with the diesel rev limit.

Did you end up installing these? Wondering if its a straight forward swap. Interested in ordering a set myself.

I realized those PNs were for a RHD car. The correct Valeo PNs are 044614 and 044615. And I can’t find a set of the LHD housings for nearly as good a price so I’ve aborted that project for now.

The diesel is the shit. I loved the torque and fuel mileage.

That must screw up the weight distribution quite a bit.

N54 is 320 lbs and S65 is 445 lbs so it is heavier; however, the car overall is 400 lbs lighter than an E9x M3 and with similar weight distribution.

E82 + S65 = in my book!

One of my favorites is ilikebmxbikes's car.

Finally put my Whiteline poly rear subframe bushings in. I've only been on the test drive so far but it was amazing. The rear is actually attached to the car! I had inserts in before and they helped slightly but you can definitely still feel flex. The poly bushings eliminate that completely and were fairly easy to install. The hardest part by far was removing the old bushings but I was prepared since I have done E46 subframe bushings before.

East Detailing steering wheel cover arrived today!
But I have a floor to install this weekend, and haven’t made it to HF for dental picks yet. So install probably won’t be for a little while yet.

One day I'll have an S85 in my 1er and then laugh at the weight dist comments, myself

As far as what's going on with the car now, I've neglected it since getting the car back from that awful vinyl wrap. So I'm trying to kick myself back into gear by buying a set of used rear seats to dye. My interior project may be slow but it's even slower going at 0MPH so I needed to change that. Overall I'd like to have the rest done by the time I've got the Recaro Sportster CS here and the custom covers are on.

Fiddling through my options for new color wraps. I was going to stick with the blue but it's left somewhat of a bad taste in my mouth after this whole ordeal. I've got some colors I'm tossing around in my head and bouncing off of people so we'll see where I land. Either way, the car will look very different by the end of the year

Just to clarify you meant S85 and not S58...because THIS is something I would subscribe to.
