Airbag fault code 9416 - drivers side?

Hello I have a USA model left hand drive 2008 135i coupe. The airbag and seatbelt dash lights are lit. Using INPA the fault code is 9416. The fault code translator gives the following:

9416 ACSM/MRS: Seat occupancy, driver, incorrect: hardware does not support driver seat-occupancy detector acsm60 Crash safety module

9416 MRS: Retractor tensioner, left mrs5 Multiple restraint system

9416 SGM-SIM: Rollover bar, left: open circuit sgm_60_2 Safety and information module (SIM)

Has anyone seen this error code before? All searches on here seem to point to the passenger side occupancy sensor as being the problem, not the driver side. Also the occupancy sensor bypass solutions all seem to be for the passenger side. Am I missing something? Please let me know your collective thoughts. Thanks in advance for your help. Thanks for reading. That’s why I posted here hoping someone had seen these before and might have insight into the drivers side vs passenger side issue. Thanks again. Anyone else have ideas?

Update I replaced the driver seat seat belt latch and pretensioner unit. Presumably that would take care of the middle issue in the post above. Still have the same 9416 error code.

One item of note the replacement pretensioner unit
Bmw part number 72-11-7-213-563 D routes thru the yellow connector under the seat. The new part had a slightly different pin setup than the one I took out. The parts diagram had two different pretensioners. One for 4/08 production and later and one for earlier production dates. My 135 has a 4/08 production date so I used that part number above. Since my production date is right at the change date I am wondering if maybe mine used the prior part. Please chime in with any thoughts. Thx.

Could it be a Mat sensor issue? I had that same issue on my E90 a while back and was taken care of under a recall. You may want to look into that.

Thx. I don’t think so as I think that would give a different error code. As not sure the driver side even has a mat sensor for seat occupancy as if the car is driving there is always someone in the driver seat. A new Carly code reader I have just says 9416 is the left side pretensioner which I have replaced as noted in the earlier post. Thanks again for the reply.

Check that response above. it might be the driver occupancy as I see that is listed in the INPA error explanation. I may try that or the bypass solution if I get no further responses. Thanks again for the reply.

Whenever I get the airbag symbol, along with the seat belt symbol , I reseat the yellow connector under the drivers seat and make sure all the connections are solid. Then I use Carly to clear the code. It lasts for weeks, or months, then will repeat the error after moving the seat forward too rapidly.
