Original link atop this thread no longer valid? Looking for direction to code out DSC/DTC nannies on my 8/2008 135i track car. This is a full race prep but I'm trying to utilize the stock DME and ABS.

I was able to code the nannies out using Bimmergeeks protool app. It was pretty simple.

I don't have esys and wouldn't know how to use it. That's why I got the protool app. E90 parameters were different which I had no problem coding my 335i with ncsexpert. I havet played with all the functions on my F22 yet to know what they all do. Most functions aren't In English which doesn't help. You could always pay someone to do it. Do you have LSD? That would help with burnouts. My M240i spins wheels no problem. Not sure about a standing burnout or power slides. I dont have LSD. Coding ediff off didn't do much for me so I coded it back to stock. It did make the suspension feel softer from less brake pretention. Sorry I couldn't help.

I don't think I've seen anyone ever post what adding +spbr (Sport Brake Retrofit) to your VO actually changes within the car's modules.

I added +spbr to my 128's VO using bimmergeeks protool. Once the VO was updated it said I needed to default code only the DSC module. Here's the comparison of before and after values showing which parameters were changed.

#1 values are the before adding +spbr
#2 values are after adding +spbr.

Thanks for posting this.

Was there any info on what that option was called?

You feel any difference compared to the original changes posted in this thread?

Oh, yeah sorry, this is the sport brake option for 128s. When adding the factory performance brake kit (135i front calipers/rotors and 328i 42mm piston rear calipers) you're supposed to add this option to the vehicle order.

Lots of people claimed that coding the option did or did not change anything with how the car drives, I just wanted to see what exactly changes when adding it.

It makes sense that the pressure models and pad wear compensation would change, but I surprised to see the oversteer coefficient and yaw moment also get updated.

I haven't felt a difference yet but I wasn't really expecting to on the street. I have a track day on the 25th so maybe I'll feel something different there.

Hey everyone, thanks for the help in this thread. I haven't addressed all of the nannies identified, but used the info here to get a couple of items updated on my track car.

I uploaded a video to my (very new) youtube channel walking through it. If anyone here sees something wrong in the video please let me know - I don't want to spread disinformation. PM me here or comment on the video, whatever - I just appreciate the feedback.

Thanks again!
Ted

Super helpful thread. Working an a rallycross build and recently installed an LSD in the rear so having the nannies off will be helpful.

Been looking around and can't find much on coding out ABS. Will be installing a 2nd set of rear calipers soon that will require removing the rear speed sensors so I'm guessing that will end up disabling ABS, but is there a way to code it out so I don't get a light on the dash? I know I can also pull a fuse, but being able to swap a computer value would be much quicker.

I would characterize mine exactly as the same as yours - "rough vibration / quite loud". I am going to attempt the recoding today to remove DIFF_LOCK, FLR, FBS, and BB_RAB and will attempt another event to see if there is any improvement.

Edit - had the coding done this afternoon. Here is the complete before trace and the pertinent modules I changed. Looking forward to trying out an autocross to see if this improves the issues I had above.

I know it's been a while since my last update. About a month after i thought i conquered the ediff/adb/traction control issue, the problem returned. At the time, I was experiencing misfire issues. After replacing plugs and coils, I decided to reset adaptions and variants. For some strange reason, my car reverted back to its previous state of traction control preventing the wheels from putting the requested power down. You can only imagine how I felt having brakes intervene again and power cuts at the limit with dsc completely off. The ecu will brake any wheel necessary front or back to keep the car going in the direction of your steering inputs. Ecu controlled brake pressure is seamless sometimes but, other times could be abrupt. Either way, the vehicle is slowed down.

I back tracked and redid everything. I reflashed DSC90 data file 6776067 in winkfp and recorded with ncsexpert. I used the v41 Daten files. I repeated this process over the months also using v54 files with no success. Be cautious when updating a module with winkfp. You don't want to brick an ecu like I did. Winkfp wasn't the problem. My laptop gave me an issue right in the middle of the flash. So, I have a new dsc unit installed.

I officially don't know how to stop traction control from braking a wheel or power cuts. It seems to me the brakes are already pretensioned even when just driving down the road ready to react to a possible loss of traction. I had new stock turbos installed which gives me some wheel spin from a 1st gear launch without a problem once 15 psi of boost kicks in at 3500 rpms. Thats only because i have a jb4 and mhd. No wheel spin on stock boost. The rear brakes still limit power with braking pressure while the wheels are spinning.

The good news is I have learned how to code a little more fun in the drive. On the MK60_87.COA module, it's COA_SDR_CTC or just CTC for cornering traction control. Theres only 2 values for this. Ncsexpert shows wert 01 data 00 selected by default. I decided to add custom data value 01 to see what happens. Well, it basically turns corner traction control off. Going around corners is a lot of fun now. It allows just enough drift before you break to much traction and get into trouble. Nice controlled drifts. The car will hold the drift with braking pressure. If you push the accelerater while in the corner or drift at the limit, the car will stop applying power until your back on a safe path. Everything is happening so fast, you don't really realize to a huge degree that power was gradually reduced to assist with getting out of the corner safely.

Although the computer will help you, be careful. Even the M2 has safety features while dsc is completely off. You can through that car into corners at over 100 MPH and the ecu controls the car perfectly. Letting you have fun and making you feel awesome. BMW has done this intentionally from my research. Safe and fun. CTC off gives a little more freedom with DSC on too.
Hi. How could you use Winkfp to flash your dsc90? I'm missing the 32DSC90.ipo in EC-APPS/NFS/SGDAT. Do you have it? I've tried to download the latest sp daten but it's missing. I have wasted days on this...
