Finally ordering my first BMW!

Hey all! I finally placed an order on a 2012 135i. Seriously am so excited to get the car since I've been following and wanting this car since it came out in 08. Here's the build:

Black Sapphire Metallic
Oyster leather
Aluminum trim
7-speed double clutch
M Sport Package
Premium Package
Navigation w/ BMW Assist
Heated front seats
Satellite radio

Unfortunately, while I'm pumped for the car, I'm entirely unexcited for the wait. So far, the order was accepted on Monday and I received a production number. I would kill to see the car produced before the factory shuts down for Christmas but that's probably overly optimistic. Anyone know when and how long the factory is shut down?

I ordered end of october. my car just changed to "in production" a few days ago. when I call in, the message says it's scheduled for production without a scheduled date. After hearing it should be ~7 weeks I went ahead and ordered. I'm looking at 6 months from order to receipt it appears. Not sure 6 months becomes the loaded 135 *rethinks higher models*

Thanks for the heads up. I'm just hoping the car gets into production quickly following that break. But we'll see. I know my parents haven't had any real difficulty in the cars that they've ordered so I'm not expecting anything terrible.

I am still waiting an email from Leipzig about this Ian.

IF I were a betting man... I'd say Leipzig will only close down a few days before Christmas (remember Dec 23 and 24th and 25th are holidays here) and then for New Years eve and day - they should be closed down for. I'd say 22nd thru 25th and then New Year's eve and day.

Has your car gone into production yet? I ordered mine at the end of December and I don't have a production week yet.. I really just want an estimate on when I'll get it so I was looking for people who ordered in Dec..

Yep. Unfortunately the holiday break seemingly delayed things a good deal. Estimated completion date is Jan 28th. I'm hoping I'll take delivery 4 weeks after that but being on the west coast it might take a little longer. It's a long wait but hopefully worth it.

Probably dumb Q, but is it still possible to order a 1M?

Nope. Production officially over. Might still be able to find one at a dealer but for $$$.

Here's a question for you guys. I'm tracking my car's production but whenever I call the number to get the details, it does not say what specific stage of production the car is in (such as "in the paint shop" or what have you). Considering the estimated completion date is the 28th, I was expecting to be getting those details right now. Do we know if calling the number still gives those details, or do I just have to suffice with knowing that it's in production?

I'm wondering the same thing.. Seems like the phone number is giving me the same info as the website. I don't really want to bother my dealer weekly to get a status number..

Woot woot! Production complete and now on the way to the port of exit. So excited! And that means that I can confirm that calling the number does not give you specific details on the car's production status.

I ordered a few days before Christmas and production complete happened online sometime this past week.. But online lags a little bit. Production started a couple weeks ago.

Congrats on the new car. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

I'm curious, I bought mine in '08. What are people getting for interest rates in 2012?

2.9% if you have decent credit. Not bad!

LOL. Tell me about it... Fortunately my car is at the port waiting for a boat which looks like will be leaving on the 7th, IIRC. So once my car got into production, it was about 1.5 - 2 weeks for the car to get to the port and hopefully only a couple of more days to actually get on a boat.

I am jealous! I called the 800 number this morning and mine is still sitting waiting for a boat!
