Breather fiter

I'm going to install a afe 2 stage CAI next week (hopefully it arrives in time), and was reading up a bit on other modifications. I came accross a post at a different forum about the need to add a Crankcase Vent Filter Breather since the oem filter case is removed.

Any ide if this is true, snce I have not read anything like it on this forum, at all.

Here is a link for such a item: http://www.amazon.com/MAGNUM-WASHABL...words=bmw+128i

Thanks

Amazon:

Washable Crankcase Breather also referred to as crankcase vent, ventilation filter is a small filter provides an air release to prevent build up of pressure within the crankcase. They ensure that your engine does not reuse any oil contaminated air that could cause poor running and a lack of power. It is a must when stock restrictive air filter incorporated in its box, is replaced by a cold air intake. Modern internal-combustion engines are designed to return the crankcase fumes back into the engine normally via the air intake tract & into the intake manifold.

You don't need a crankcase filter unless your running a custom intake manifold. We also have maf sensors so there isn't a need. Hope you enjoy the intake and the ups tracking indicates it will arrive Monday afternoon.

Who was your source for the DISA intake?

And is it programmable via regular coding ?

Not sure what you mean, I did not look into coding the DISA intake, just installing a AFE Stage 2 CAI.

Soooo, not sure if it is via coding, my biggest problem right now is that the D_CAN cable I received is not working correctly, dropping communication and such.
