OCW or Optimum Car Wax for the uninformed is a pretty good spray-on, wipe-off car wax. Another alternative, which isn't wax but rather a sealant, is Optimum Opti-Seal or OS.
I actually use both at the same time. OCW on top of OS is a good combo but OS by itself is sufficient. Oh and if you're an owner of a black vehicle, Poorboy's Natty's Blue paste wax is a great wax as well, hehe. I'm a regular at Autopia.org. |

My enthusiasm for waxing waxes early in the car's life, then wanes as time passes...

Zaino. I think they put something addictive into the Z2 car polish. You'll just crave that smell more and more.

I've been using Griot's Best in Show car wax with very good results on my Dolomite Gray TT. Color is noticeably deeper/darker after the wax. However, I may switch to their far more expensive Carnuba wax for the red hot Crimson Red 135i.
And no, I don't work for Griot's Garage, but all their stuff is fantastic. Best car care system I've ever seen. Advice: if you never use anything else of theirs, their clay is the best you'll find and a bargain too for the amount you get!

I have always had good luck with the Meguires 3 step process. My last 3 cars have been black and meguires looked good and lasted well. However, I have been looking at Griot's website and I hear nothing but rave reviews for their products. I may have to get one of their big kits and convert myself to Griots.

^^ You won't be sorry. The micro fiber washing mits are a must, as are the polishes. You'll find them very easy to use (remove). The wax when used with an orbital polisher lays down very thin and dries quick and removal is also super easy. Their polish/wax pads are outstanding. Other "musts" are their leather conditioner (doesn't sit on top like a lotion--really absorbs well and the feel of the leather is fantastic afterwards) and cleaning clay (both are the best and easiest I've ever used by a big margin).
I gave away a lot of Meguires products (some brand new) after I started using Griot's. Night and day differences.

I don't think you can go wrong with any Collinite wax. I myself use 845 during the winter.
Come summer, I have used Natty's Blue, and last summer went with Opti-Seal and liked it. All three (845, NB, and OS) are very easy to work with. I have been thinking about trying Souveran. I hear that is doesn't have great longetivity, but during warm weather I don't care. |

I read one problem with Griot's wax. The "best in show" is supposd to be awesome except that it doesn't last very long. I have read several people complain of maybe 5-6 weeks and it needs a recoat. Besides that they say the shine/ease of use is excellent. How have you found the Griots wax as far as longevity?

Exactly the stuff I use. Added some Groits Best of Show wax, and Paint sealant as well. Paint seal 1st, then best of show over with a final coat of Pinnacle, and OH MY!
