Wish I could join you, but it is a bit too far for me. My eyes can't take 15 hours a day any more. Have fun!

September would be much better for me. I have friends who are PCD'ing their AW 135 next week. Im sure they would like to do the Tail of the Dragon in September as well.

How about a route further south/east? There are lots of interesting roads in western NC and north GA with less traffic, and probably less "enforcement" than TOTD.

I was sad I was going to have to post the bad news but I have to work. Now that we are plaiing something for Sept I am good to go. I suppose sometimes things just work out. I think it would be so cool to have 6 or 8 cars there in Sept...

We (my wife) signed the paperwork for our 1er yesterday!!! All that is left now is the plant tour on 8/13 and PCD on 8/14!!! Has been a long long long wait! ;-) Living in the ATL is pretty tough with one car, but doable.

I was actually fortunate enough to go with tkbr0wn when he did his PCD a little over a year ago and have been hooked ever since.

I realize that part of the cool factor of the 1 is how rare it is compared to other cars on the street today (I may see 1 a week if I'm lucky). But coming from a Corvette where it was common to see 10, 20 or even more vettes at an event, I think it would be awesome to get as many 1's together as we can.

If we schedule it later in Sept.....maybe we will be through the break-in period. ;-)

ok so my wife's indecisiveness hit again. Call - I'm so sorry this is such a run around.

We (my wife and little boston terrier) are heading out to asheville Friday morning. We'll arrive there sometime after lunch. Depending on weather (and it looks good so far), I may do a run on the TOTD Friday late afternoon or Saturday morning.

I realize that I will probably be the only one there so I was hoping for some input on places to eat, stop and enjoy the view, visit, etc. This is my very first time on the TOTD so any and all suggestions are welcome (even the "Hey, don't go here...")

In September, I'll only be free the weekend of 12-13 SEP. If you guys happen to pick one of those 2 days, I'm in

Addicted to One,

I'm in Fayetteville, too. I have never seen another 1 around here. Damn...and I thought I was the first kid on the block with a shiny new way to wrap myself around a tree.

J.A. Carr - Hey man...yeah I've actually seen 2 other ones. 1 black 135i that parks in the Alpha Committee parking lot at BH and I saw another black 1 series (didn't see the front or back) on MacArthur.

Here's mine... It is a piss poor photo because I was using my wife's big fancy camera and had no idea how to use it properly.

I ordered it in June, and just picked it up on July 31, and I am burning through the break-in period as quickly as I can, but I may have cheated a little on the RPMs at times.

Those are the new M-Sport Wheels. Looks good.

On another note, I just ordered the KW V2 suspension and will be trying the install myself in the next couple of weeks. Call, should I do an upgraded swaybar at the same time? Is doing the front enough or should I do the front and rear? Any other suggestions for things I should do while I have it ripped apart?

I really wanted to do the Cross, but couldnt bring myself to spend the extra $1000.

Yeah I would do the swaybar if I were you. That single mod made the greatest change in handling (at least IMHO). Cornering is muuuuch flatter with a thicker swaybar installed in the front. If you decide to install the swaybar AND use the provided end-links make sure there are the correct size/length. If you are not lowering the car drastically then the stock endlinks should be fine, on the other hand if you are dropping the car more than an 1" in the front then you may be better served using the provided adjustable endlinks. Just make sure to adjust the size according to the drop you have.

Awesome, thanks for the help. I am not looking for a big drop, just want a tighter feel. Ill check into the Hotchkis front sway bar as well.

Front sway bar for sure...rear is fine just as is. Looking forward to middle of Sept for a drive with the group...maybe the leaves will have changed some.

I took a MINI group of five up last Thursday...WOW. Had a great time...no POPO issues, roads where clear, weather was great.
