Sounds like they staggered the 'Final Remedy' notices?

I'm in NJ and I just received it last week.

Any idea about how long it should take the dealer to get the parts in stock? I called Thursday. Seems to be a small part...

Reviving a dead thread, I had to cancel my appointment due to putting the car in storage and was wondering if theres and chance of the car getting flashed? Did the 130i tune and don't really want to redo that.

for the PCV fix? I really doubt they would do that....in my opinion chances are very low. I run a BPC stage 1 tune and the car felt the same after the PCV recall was done. The number of recalls they are doing, they will do the minimum work possible as they don't want to spend time on anything else...

Absolutely no chance of that. We only get 10 FRU to replace the heater. It's out/in see ya later.

Looks like additional cars with N52 engines have been recalled. My 2013 128i is now 'on the list', but my local dealer says they do not have parts or procedures (should have procedures if it is the same thing as affected earlier cars?). This is for the PCV heater.

I saw some posts that wonder if N52s with the DISA intake manifolds may not be affected. Is this accurate?

In a quick reading of the recall announcement, it seems all cars that have already had this recall performed in either of the earlier campaigns are subject to the newest iteration again. Correct, no resolution available at this time as it requires parts for almost one-million BMW in the age of supply shortages. They do say the risk of fire is small but do suggest not storing the car inside!

New recall number = 22V-119

I may give them a call just to ask if they can slide me in early

I did the 3IM swap in Dec of last year. At the beginning of March I started having the exact symptoms stated in the letter. Assuming my issue is the PCV heater, which I'm almost certain it is, the card with the 3IM/DISAs are affected.

The parts aren't available yet. Best they can do is inspect if you've experienced the symptoms and tell you if the PCV heater is actually the cause of them. Going in on Saturday to get mine inspected, but even if my problem is the PCV heater they told me they wouldn't be able to get me a loaner or rental cause they haven't received guidance on that yet.

can anyone post a part diagram with the offending unit in it? Is it possible to visually inspect it for obvious signs of melting? Assuming it can be seen at all.

It's 7 or 8 in this diagram right? Can it be seen with the intake manifold on?

So what use is it to go sit around at the dealership? Parts not available / No guidance from Mgt . . .

. . . I'm gonna need the M2 loaner with full tank of gas

Get them to inspect the car and confirm my issues stem from the PCV heater. Once they do I'll let 'em know they can either have me daily a rolling lawsuit or give me a loaner til the parts are available then take it up the chain til I get an M2.

I made an appt for Thurs AM, but plan to call to discuss on Wed before wasting time driving there and sitting around until they inform me that the part is not available yet . . .

Nope, paid $140 a shit wash and to have them tell me my VC is cracked (which I already knew, but it's not nearly bad enough to cause the smoke/smell I've experienced) and that's the source of my issues. The ignored the fact that smoke is coming from under the manifold and that the smell goes from your typical light oil burning smell indicative of a VC/VCG leak on startup to a full-blow godawful plastic burning smell as the car warms up. Wouldn't even take a ride with me to show them how the smell changes.

New VC is on the way. Looking forward to the joy of redoing that job. Hopefully it'll calm things down a bit but I'm still fairly certain my PCV heater is a rolling fire hazard. With things warming up I'm just gonna unplug it til the dealer gets the parts in for the recall.

Got the official notice from BMW NA today on my wife's E90. Nothing yet on my 128i. Prominently displayed in a blue box at the top of the letter: "Remedy is Unavailable"

Be aware: There is a problem that may cause your car to burn

Status: Remedy Unavailable.

I cancelled my appt, no use wasting time if parts are not ready/available yet

I got it too on March 02, 2022. I have a 2012 BMW 128i M-Sports. Campaign No. 22V-119.

I'm still waiting it out. I contact BMW and they said the only thing I can do right now is wait until a remedy is available.

I'm in Florida & it's not cold outside. I drove my 2010 128i on Monday just a few miles. When I got home I smelled something that reminded me of something burning. When I got out of my car, there was smoke coming from under the hood on the passenger's side next to the windshield. We opened the hood & smoke was visibly coming out of engine compartment, but no fire.
Since it's not cold here in Fla, then could this be the PCV valve heater being recalled? or is it something else?

If the issue was the PCV heater the smoke would be on the drivers side. Since the smoke is coming from the passenger's side its most likely oil dripping onto the exhaust manifold.

If the problem is reproducible I'd pop the hood and try to find the source. If the PCV heater is the issue smoke will be coming from the bottom of the intake manifold just under the cylinder 3 runner.
