Engine bay label questions

hey all,

just bought this 08 135i sport from NSW
arrived on the truck yesterday and just want some clarifications on a couple of things I've noticed in the engine bay

APOLOGIES IN ADVANCE for the m badge I will be removing this

images attached

but hoping to get some clarification on the intake and the SEVAL plastered everywhere

I'm looking to modify the vehicle pretty extensively so full bolt ons tune downpipes etc

is the intake I currently have good or should I replace it,

also I tried googling SEV. AL as it appears on multiple stickers inside the carbut have found nothing

help from the brains trust would be appreciated

Looks like the car has already been modified. The intake looks pretty cool, and costly too.
Is that real carbon fibre?
What type of filters are inside?

definitely carbon
branding on the intake says Gruppe M (never heard of it)

cone inside is one of the flatter style cones

the SEVAL branding also occurs on front left and right sides

Sorry, I don't have any explanation for the ///M badge on the engine cover

Gruppe M = expensive, very expensive. Costs around AUD $3000 new.

SEV - Japanese company, including manufacture of automotive components
SEV-AL - used on dampers and brake calipers

https://translate.google.com/transla...ch&pto=aue

Sounds a bit gimmicky to me.

I'm sorry how much Jesus the car was a bargain as as it was !

I guess the Japanese stuff makes sense considering the car was imported from there. but I agree it sounds gimmiky, a little like adding an m badge adding 5hp

It's pretty sad that the previous owner spent big $$$ on the intake yet retained the factory diverter pipes. Either way, it was a good score on your part.
