The interior isn't cozy enough, looks like a video arcade cockpit, not ugly but a little busy IMO. In fact I considered the M135i interior busy when I first sat in one, but this I couldn't live with.

Not sure on the A45. I'd say back end of this year? Early next?

I got a good deal on the A250 so pulling the trigger on one of those.

I'd be interested too at what sort of discounting Benz are offering on an A250 at launch. Was it floor stock? Let me know PM if you like

$75k plus on roads. Pretty well priced.
A tad more than the M135, but you get a panoramic sunroof, a bit more gadgetry and AWD (for those like me who fancy it).
Notwithstanding that this is an AMG model, priced to compete with a 135 M-variant; as opposed to a full M car (1M).

I was thinking it's priced pretty close to the A250 too. Color choices?

Before you commit to a deposit I would drive the car first. Numbers on paper are only one aspect. More importantly how does the engine behave, dynamics etc... I know of three people who bought cars on emotion based on paper reviews and found they were disappointed. Two of those cars were the mk6 golf R, the other was a TTS.
Beware of the hype.

Re the A250 it doesn't phase me TBH I've got other vehicles. This one ticks the boxes at the moment so am happy to go with it.

The A45 will be a cracker I'd have no issue buying without a test drive.

Latest on Pricing announced

http://smh.drive.com.au/motor-news/m...315-2g4ba.html

At the other end of the scale, Mercedes-Benz has also confirmed a razor-sharp entry into the compact segment with its A45 AMG - the company’s first four-cylinder hot hatch - which will go on-sale in September at $74,900, packing not only the most powerful four-cylinder production engine in the world but also a long list of standard equipment.

The fiesty, five-door hatch has a 250kW turbo 2.0-litre engine, lightweight all-wheel drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch auto that all combine to propel it to 100km/h in 4.6sec.

Adding to its performance, it will ride on 19-inch alloy wheels and have the Performance Exhaust, Driver’s Package and Performance seats as standard fitment, along with a panorama sunroof, radar cruise control and Harmon Kardon Logic 7 audio.

Mercedes-Benz Australia is already holding over 100 deposits for the A45 AMG, and expects demand will outstrip supply for at least 12 months.

The specs on this new Merc are astonishing! I'm very impressed about the lack of turbo lag for such a high power output. Would love to take one of these on a test drive to feel the full 26psi AMG pull!

Went to THE Canberra dealer yesterday to enquire about the A45.

No discounts at all, not 1c, November/December delivery.

They didn't know anything about standard kit or spec, I showed them Ausmotive.com hahaha

a mate has put down a deposit on the a45. he is #5 on the list, delivery in sept. he will finalise colours and options as soon as they become avail.
funnily enough he has a 2008 335 convertible that he cant move, had it for sale for about a year now. and its priced near the bottom of the carsales pile.
he said his options r to trade it in or cut the guts out of it when the a45 gets nearer to being delivered

$75k? That's extremely good value for its performance and badge!

Makes me wonder how good the new C63 will be.

Darn auto spell checker... I am sure you meant "louder"...not "latest"
