Well, my choices in tires are determined by my 14 autocrosses (street tire class) in the summer. I'm looking at Dunlop Z1 Star Specs as my replacement for the OE runflats.

If I just want a good high performance street tire (no autocrosses or track) that get better wear, Kumho Ecsta SPT, General Exclaim UHP (all-season), Toyo Proxes T1R, or Falken FK452 are some really good tires for the money, IMO.

TireRack's tests and customer ratings on various tires can be especially informative if you want to spend some time comparing and matching tires to your specific criteria.
