Going non-staggered

128 with the sport package... Style 263 (W) type 7.5/8.5 - 215/245.

I like this wheel:
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand

Non-staggered layout.

PRO:
- looks good
- fits OE BMW center caps
- easy to clean
- lipped

CON:
- non-staggered

Is the rear with 215 going to look significantly thinner than the 245? Love the look of the wheel but if it's going to alter the 'rear stance' look too much then

Rear reduced from 245 to 215 is not a good idea at all. They will looks puny and have far lesser handling capabilities.

If you like those wheels and want to go non-staggered, consider 235's all around. (235/40/18)

Non-staggered is usually not a 'con', if you size tires correctly. In our cars, it reduces understeer and makes our cars more neutral.

Puny is definitely not as good

Handling is relative. I don't mind on a 128 vert. If I wanna look beefy then I ride the 540 with 275s in the rear...

I just want to know if it looks super puny... isn't it a stock 128i with 17" and 205s all around?

It has been said that you can comfortably fit 225/40/18's on the 18x7.5's so I would go for that if you want non-staggered.

Actually, the Bremmer Krafts are 18x8, so 225s definitely will...

235 in this wheel would tuck in nicely under the front?

Even though a 18x8 would easily fit a 235 you do have to wonder if it would stick out a bit in the front.

Garage List
2006 Volvo V70R  [10.00]
2007 BMW 335i  [10.00]
Based on the US spec sport package 128i (17x7 et 47 fronts), the 8" et45 wheel would stick out ~57mm from the mounting hub compared to 42mm for the stock wheel. So it looks like it be a bit more than 1/2 inch, plus whatever difference there are in the tires.

Since the Canadian spec wheels seem wider to begin with, there will probably be less difference. The US 135i wheels (7.5 et49 front) are 46mm from the hubs, so I would imagine yours are similar. But it is still around a 1/2 inch more to the outside (plus tires).

Any time to reduce the offset and put bigger tires on, you're running the risk of rubbing. I have 245's on front on 17x9's (ET41) for autocross, and added a 5mm spacer even, making my offset net ET36 because of the spacer.

I also have about -1.5 of camber, giving me more room too.. so don't use my experience to gauge if you can get those tires in there... Just keeping everyone fully informed.

Those wheels with the 225/40/18 would be a really nice looking set up on that car.
