Loved it when Clarkson waxed poetic on how practical the 1M was compared with to the Cayman and Lotus--a true family saloon! LOL

Just picked up mine on Thursday from the PDC. After sliding it around on their track and having more fun driving the Tail of the Dragon, Top Gear's review was the icing on the cake!

"Four poo chutes"
"Room for two more in the boot"

Classic!

No, Bubajay was talking about the accident that damaged the front bumper of the 1m, he was not talking any bad about the looks of the car, you can see at the end of the preview that the front bumper is broken because the stig spun it into the grass.

The best review i have ever seen for a 1m till now, i enjoyed watching it till the very end

"Blimey this is good."
"Just feels so beautifully balanced. Because all BMW M cars feel this way, they just feel better than Mercs, better than Audis, better than pretty much anything."
"And just when you think it can't possibly get any better than this, you push the little M button on the steering wheel, and the whole car shims, it's like a shiver of excitement. [...] In M mode it's even more of a tire-smoking mentalist."
"Honestly, I haven't driven anything this sort of perfect since, well, one of those original Golf GTI in fact."
"This then does to today's sports cars what the original Golf GTI did to the MG and the Triumph Spitfire: it renders them ...pointless."
"Drawbacks? Pfew... Ummm... maybe the SatNav screen is a bit far away, and perhaps the ride is a tad firm, but that said it isn't as uncomfortable as my AMG Mercedes."
"You're having such a good time."
"This is a brilliant, brilliant, brilliant car. And that's all really I got to say. The End."
"Unbelievable. It's one of the most spectacular cars I've driven in a long time."

JC was clearly over the moon.

Very funny, don't know if that line has any meaning in the UK.

Here in the North East He/We would have said "room in the trunk for 2 dead hookers"

My reply to him was more about the 535ftw reference. Why people come to a 1M forum section to share their strong dislike of the looks or their opinion of a 535 being better than a 1M is beyond me...

Great segment and the result is just as I thought - the 1M really did well on a short, technical track like the Top Gear track as opposed to the high-revving CSL and E92.

But you have to remember that the CSL did a wet lap on Pilot Sport Cup tires which, as anyone who's driven on a very wet and curvy road at high speed with them equipped, really cuts down on handling to say the very least. I think a dry lap would yield a different result.

I think the car is ugly as sin, but I would take one in a heart beat. Everyone is raving about this car.

As Jeremy did mention, it's made up of a variety of parts from different sources which shouldn't work as well as it does....but, boy, does it.

I really think the success of the 1M will pave the road for a kickass next-gen M2 (or whatever they will call it).
