Sounds like they are using the same steel spraceframe chassis from the M6 they campaigned last year. Just different M3 body work.

In the M6 they had last year, they used the engine from the E39 M5 to meet the regulations.

Yeah it's a tube frame built by Riley Technology, who also builds the GT class-dominating RX-8 frame.

I have been searching the net. It doesn't say anything about them using the S65 from the M3. It just says they are switching to M3 body-work.

Will they still continue to use the S62?

I know they also campaign two M3's in the Continental Tire series as well. Those are basically modified street cars.

tube frame is a turn off, just not impressed.
Speed channel series with the audi A4's, bmw, mazda 5 is closer to production cars, wish that series would take off like nascar.

You will want to watch the Continental Tire Sports Car Series. Basically road cars with minor modifications. They have fields over 60 cars. They are best sports car racing going in the US. Turner has a two car team in Continental Tire also, along with Fall Line and others running the M3 with the S65 motor.

The Speed World Challenge series is dieing. They keep losing manufacturers and teams every year. It use to be on Speed Channel, but is now on VS Channel and called World Challenge.

Not just like M6, it is the M6 car they ran last year. It just has a M3 body on it.

And it looks like they are still going to run the S62 from the E39 M3.

Most professionals at the top levels of motorsports started in go karts at ages between 6 and 10. Most top young drivers that are aiming to run at the top levels often will be in mid to upper level series before they are 16... not a requirement.
