High mileage 1ers only

Two questions:

1) who are the mileage champs on the forum?
2) more importantly, what repairs (NOT maintenance items) have you performed?

08 128i 6MT
112K miles
Repairs - Mass Air Sensor at 110K (that's it).

Wow you've had great results! I have 140,000 KM ~87000.

No repairs other than cosmetic (due to dealership mistake) lol

Over 135k miles:

waste gate rattle (started just out of special warranty so I'll eventually go Vargas stage one I'm thinking)

hpfp at 7700 and 55k with no problems since

injectors getting replaced tomorrow due to cold start throttle jumping

Did one preventive intake valve cleaning thus far

Had a bad spark plug during a change but that's more of a parts problem

I think that's about it. I'm pretty anal about the car so I'm hoping to make it last another 150k

Subscribing as a new owner. This will be even more informative if everyone includes the mileage at which a component was replaced. Update OP to reflect this please?

I'd very highly suggest new spark plugs at the minimum at 100k, i'd personally do coil packs too just for the peace of mind. I did mine at 50k and i'll do it again at 100k.

It looks like we should break this down between N51/52 and N54 cars. From the few responses so far it appears the N54 suffers from the HPFP & injector issues. A friend with a 335i has had two injectors and two HPFPs replaced.

Why i sacrificed power for a NA engine.

Sacrificing the use of the car for a day while it gets a HPFP or injector replaced is totally worth enjoying the extra power for the other 1458 days I drive it.

35k Injectors and HPFP replaced, rear differential replaced, radio replaced, convertible top replaced.

For starters, we have the same thermostat and water pump issues. I think 112k miles on a modern BMW with no significant repairs is pretty impressive.

Agreed. I think it's impressive on any car. Especially on a BMW.

90k miles '08 135i

2x HPFP
7x injectors
1x waterpump (preventative)
6x coilpacks (2x fail at 400whp+ 4x preventative)
3rd brake light

So far just the coilpacks on my watch.
