[QUOTE=ken1137;10796990][QUOTE=Beemer22;10796610]We sold 4 1Ms at MSRP. And that's all we sold.

I'm ordering for 3 M5's at MSRP.

I would rather pay $100k for the new M5 v $80K for the 1M. then again I just paid $80K for two yrs of my daughters education. 3 more yrs to go

I should point out the we also have never sold a new BMW, any model, with a mark-up of any kind. It's called R-E-S-P-E-C-T for the customer. Some dealers have it....most don't.

We don't mark up our cars. Some clients get amazing deals where the dealer actually loses $1500-$4000 on 1 car!!! Believe me the profit now comes mostly from parts and service. There is really no gross profit from car sales.

Corporate has taken over most dealerships and it's more for them and less for the employee.

Most and I mean more than 80% of sales people nowadays make an average of $200 per car sale. All bonuses are gone. Hours are extended.

We see record profits from the Dealer and from the Manufacturer and our pay continues to be lowered systematically. So any real money being made is really for the top.

Smaller version of 99% vs 1%

Sales people don't make as much as you think, and yes, there are some cheesy ass salespeople out there. I know because when I called around for the 1M, I couldn't believe my ears.

I am not a car salesman but I am pretty sure dealerships do NOT have to reveal to a potential customer any damage that occurs in transit and is then fixed prior to a sale(at least in CA).

Using deductive reasoning, he is still driving a 1M, his original 1M is currently being sold, so yes, they got him another car.

This car reminds me of a SNL skit that made fun of the media. At first some wacko shots a famous person, then they build him up as a celebrity, then the wacko gets killed and it's another media event complete with special coverage on the wacko's life including interviews of friends, etc.

So I guess now this car is famous...maybe for the wrong reasons, but look at Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Rob Lowe and now the Youtube sensation BSM 1M.

Crazy!
Well not to get personal but you dont know me... its a Handle on a forum and a on going joke. Dont take things to seriously the major thing of it is californians pay what they what to have what they want I personally would not spend $84k for a 49k Wholesale 1M.

But this is neither here nor there... simply a on going joke and I seem to have a good rep on bimmerpost... nuff said my dude.

They're embracing it and thinking they're going to make some dough on it.
then they need to rehire the idiots that they fired as collateral damage. this shows Pac BMW's true colors.

In Texas damage over and above $300 requires a disclosure to the customer.

would anyone like to go in with me a rent the closest billboard [to them] for a month to expose Pac BMW for what they really are? thank god for that 1st amendment.

we can come up with the wording and picture to put on the billboard, but how awesome would it be to do this!? it's been done before. look at what TCU did to OSU last year (referring to the "little sisters of the poor")! hahahaha

Actually there is only one state that requires a full disclosure on all damage repaired prior to sale and that is CO. In Texas there is NO disclosure law whatsoever. Thought you might want to know. In CA it's 3% or $500. In most states I believe it's 3-6% of car value(MSRP).

good find Metak! Does this car qualify as a new car though? Technically, it's used.

By law a car is 'new' until it is sold and registered. For example, I bought my Z4 Mcoupe 'used' from a dealer BUT it only 7 miles on the odometer. What happened, BMW had some crazy incentives(like $7k) that were due to end, so the dealer bought the car and waited for the right buyer while keeping the incentive to use when working out a deal. I gave them $500 of that incentive and I paid $6,500 under invoice or something like that.

I'll throw $10 into the pot if someone gets this going.

Makes sense. But this car was actually already sold to a board member, right? How would that work? This vehicle changes so much. It would be better for Pac BMW to sell/trade it to another dealer, but then they'd be giving up that huge mark-up.

Yes to all the above. I wasn't at all happy about buying from them a second time, but I was worried about not being able to secure another car this late in the game.

I'd be in for $100.
A "seven on your side" local news type story would be very good to get going. I'm assuming they cut the original buyer a deal like that to avoid that type of bad publicity.

You might (and probably are) right. If not the law, certainly it is our corporate rule to disclose damage above $300. Sure-fire way to keep litigation to a minimum
