i think this is generally the problem with any sort of flashback series. they’re trying to tell 2 overarching but parallel stories simultaneously—resulting in neither story moving at a compelling pace. character development is necessary and great for any story…but not when the writers have to do it twice!

that said, i enjoyed season 1 well enough that I’ll be excited for season 2.

Admittedly I was like Alfisti (well, rarely as harsh as him haha) and gave up after just 1 episode, but I've tried to stay focused the 2nd time around and am enjoying it now. They should have a diagram of who's who past & present at the bottom of the screen lol. Christina Ricci is annoyingly good playing that character, didn't recognize her at first. Hopefully, she's getting accolades from her performance.

Always like how cool Juliette Lewis is, funny thing that got me back into this series was when I was watching the music video for Lady (Hear Me Tonight) and my spouse and I were debating who the female lead most looked like cuz she looked familiar and I thought of Lewis and decided to restart this series.

I'm surprised you need a who's who, I thought they did a pretty good job at matching actors for the young and old versions.

Ok, I'm exaggerating, but from the first part of the 1st episode they had to scramble since there were so many players.

It's Juliette Lewis playing Juliette Lewis like it's 1994. Stumbling, drunk train wreck with issues.

So started Resident Evil last night. Not toooooooooooooo bad. Generally a good story line for me, i love a good bug show. The hard push of the soundtrack is a bit much but whatever, and yeah mixed race and lesbian couples in the first episode, just relentless with this stuff.

I am about three episodes in, i'll keep watching. Struggling a bit to piece together the reality they are living in, like are they dirt poor and clinging on to survive with just 300K people of which 70% seem to work for Umbrella or is society still functioning? I mean there's internet etc etc etc, who's running all this?

I was enjoying the series, and thought it was going to be a female version of lord of the flies.

Ok, I'm confused about Resident Evil, are you guys talking about a live version because I only found the animation tv series?

We have been watching The Dropout on Hulu. The girl playing Elizabeth Holmes (who I remember from Big Love) is doing a great job and overall it’s a pretty good watch.

Yep, lots of little stupid plot holes. There are plenty. They've manipulated the "Wesker" character quite a bit.

People wonder why something like Alien still stands tall 30 odd years later, because there was none of his silliness, even if it was a bug movie.

Oh awesome! I was waiting for him to do another one. I've watched the Japan one twice, and also his cooking show was really good.

He is insightful, thoughtful, and amusing without resorting to the kind of schtick Clarkson always falls back on.

Also, if you guys want to watch something really bizarre?

How to Build a Sex Room on Netflix.

It was interesting to say the least. Regardless of what your particular proclivities are, I can't imagine getting on camera to talk about them.
