Hello from Wisconsin - Newish 128i Owner
Hello everyone.
New to the E82 chassis, but not to BMW's. Just wanted to post and say hello to everyone. My name is Jesse and I am from the Milwaukee area. I picked up a 128i last month in Atlanta and drove it back to Wisconsin. The trip was awesome and I was able to hit Tail of the Dragon on my way home. Here are some pictures of my new commuter car..... At the tree of shame: Since buying it I have sold off the ZHP wheels and put on my TRM 17x9 wheels with 245/40 Michelin PSS tires from my E36 M3. Here are a couple pictures of the new setup: And here is one of the 128's garage mates, my E36 M3 track toy: |

Im so jealous. I saw that one on Craigslist and was trying to get one of my friends to get it. Hope you enjoy it! Seemed like a killer deal if i remember the price correctly. Welcome!!

Nice to see another new 128i with an owner who seems like they'll drive the car.
Can't wait to see what else you'll do, or if you'll just keep it clean. PS-I really like the JDM-look wheels (for lack of better term) on the 1'er...

Welcome to the family! I grew up in the Milwaukee area and Jenny Morgan has worked on my beloved and departed E36 (when she was still at LCS, I knew those folks back as far as the early 80s). And also like you, I bought my E82 in Atlanta (flew there and drove the car back to Tampa-ish, that was one long day).

Welcome! Car looks great. I'm personally a fan of the TE37 style but I think the car needs to be lower for them to look right on the e82's

Not sure who Jenny Morgan is. Should I know? Quote:

I usually can't leave anything alone, so I will be updating this thread with future modifications. I just need to be mindful of spending too much $$ on it, since that means less money to spend on E36 M3 modifications or track time. One big modification that I will be doing is a LSD. Leaning toward the M Factory Helical right now, and will be adding that before Fall. Quote:
I also like the JDM look of these wheels, but I can understand why some don't. I also had a similar style wheel on my old RX-8: Last edited by jcrane82; 05-25-2018 at 10:45 AM.. |

Most excellent mechanic who used to also write for Roundel. And a very nice person, too

Great to see another 128!
I flew to Colorado to get mine and drove back to Texas with it. And then drove it to California when I moved out here! Incredibly fun car to drive, I can’t get enough. |

Bought this carbon fiber spoiler off of eBay and received it this past weekend:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/For-07-13-E...72.m2749.l2648 Here is the fitment when just sitting the spoiler on the trunk lid: Are the gaps at the ends typical, or does this spoiler have horrible fitment. I am a little unsure how much sanding/modifying is typical for an eBay spoiler. I assumed it wouldn't be a perfect fit and would require some tweaking....but this seems extreme. What does the E82 community say? Sand/modify? Or return that horrible fitting spoiler? |

The vendor does have a return policy, but I would pay for return shipping. Any idea if carbon fiber will respond to a heat gun and allowed to be shaped? I have never worked with carbon fiber before. |

I'll also say that you're already starting out with something that looks defective. My spoiler isn't even made for my car and fits better |
