PS2 Tuning Help

New guy here, apologies if a similar thread is already out there, my searching so far has been fruitless.

Recently got a '11 135i N55 PWG. Came with a PS2 with all supporting mods and lots of upkeep, mostly great car. I'm in love. That not so mostly great part is the sloppy tune.

I have an experienced local tuner friend that I work with for anything beyond my own knowledge. I've gotten some logs to him and what he's seeing is that I'm getting throttle cut due to actual torque and requested torque mismatch when getting on the pedal, feels like a misfire @ 3-4k but logs say otherwise. Fueling looks good, too much boost, wgdc is all over the place. Few things to clean up.

So my ask is 2 things, we need a definitions file for my car and any tips out there for getting this thing running like a hog appreciated. Seems like we can make a map with Tuner pro and flash with MHD? Sounds like houtan and JPuehl are the guys to talk to. Appreciate it in advance!

JPuehl is your guy. 5*/A*/highly recommended.

He sorted my tune in 3 revisions and then fine tuned with 2 more.

Do not waste your time with some of the other ‘bigger’ or ‘well known’ tuners.

Fair point. Here's a third gear pull that shows the "misfire"/throttle cut. @jpuel I'm not sure if I can send DMs yet, but if you want to send me one I'd appreciate your help!

Thanks. You say the log shows the misfire. Where do you see that?

Do you hear or feel a misfire?

Do you know who did the tune?

Okay, few things we've learned since op. It's not technically a misfire, check log throttle position @ 3.9k rpm - cutting throttle in half under load. My buddy said something about load actual being to high vs load req, causing the throttle cut. Boost also higher than I'd personally like it to be, would like peak target to be 17-18 psi.

I feel a hard stutter ranging from 3-4k if pedal to the floor that I was assuming was misfire, but again, actually a throttle cut. I've been grannying it until we can get it resolved.

Docvu remote tuned, not on dyno. We also discovered everything from the air filter to the turbo inlet was loose and flopping all over the place, lots of leaks. I can't be certain if it was tuned in that state, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Really, if we can get pointed in the right direction for what's actually going on, tuning software, and definition files, I trust my buddy for the actual tune.

Additional info: Previous owner recorded he replaced coils, plugs, maf sensors, MAP sensor in past 4k miles (probably chasing this issue), HPFP in last 8k, and St2 LPFP was done 15-20k ago.

Yeah all of that was obvious. Just wanted to make sure you didn’t feel a misfire. It can happen and not throw a cel. The log will show a cel if it triggers, which your log didn’t show. The tune is definitely an issue. You are likely feeling the throttle close which the tune is doing. Verifying no boost leaks will also help.

You need a new tune. The e series n55 is probably one of the hardest cars to tune correctly using the factory boost control logic.

My recommendation is to reach out to Jim and get a new tune. You will be much much happier.
